Exploring New Art Forms - Pants Seam RepairÂ
I bought these pants second hand online and they were slightly too big. So I had them taken in. Afterwards I noticed that the front seam had a significant portion that had come out (not related to the tailoring). I knew that I didn’t have thread to match, and that doing it by hand or on a borrowed sewing machine would be noticeable on this fussy fabric. So I did some creative thinking (see previous post for the dawn pattern) and this is what I came up with.
I’m pretty pleased with the end result and am excited to be developing a new skill I can use to personalize and repair my clothes so they reflect my personality and last longer. Make the 3 Rs into 4 - Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle.
