#zamboni

This AU is inspired by a post by @b-quieter. The artwork, comments and reblogs about Zamboni Zoey are giving me the writing brain worm so I've come up with some headcanons/ideas for my version of the AU.

Takes place during Winter Olympics in CA. (idk where yet but in CA)

Rumi and Mira are on the South Korean Olympic Team

Rumi is on the curling team (everything is about control in that sport and Rumi is a bit of a control freak)

Mira does figure skating

Both Mira and Rumi also do two woman bobsleigh. (ever the try hards, they wanted to do Luge instead but their curling and figure skating coaches both said it was "too dangerous")

Zoey started driving the Zamboni when she was 15 as her first job.

Everyone seems to love her especially the kids, and she has become somewhat of a local celebrity.

Her Zamboni is sticker bombed with everything from pride to turtles to dad joke bumper stickers. Plus she tapes all the drawings she gets from kids to her Zamboni (thanks to @duckydrawsdigitalart for that last one)

There is a giant sea turtle plushie strapped to the front like a teddy bear on an 18 wheeler. His name is Robert and he has a matching bucket hat to Zoey.

Zoey always wears shorts, some flavor of tropical button down shirt (not buttoned) and her bucket hat. The people loved it so much that her manager added it as their official uniform for Zamboni drivers.

Before she goes out on the Ice she pulls up to the rink and talks to anyone that comes up to her. She lets small kids ride along with her as she does her job when its slow.

Jinu is a trans woman and goes by Juni. She is Zoey's bff. Juni moved from Korea to America as a young teen so she could transition.

Juni and Zoey met in the pride club at school.

Zoey helped Juni with the social aspects of transitioning both as a trans girl and as Korean student.

Juni and Zoey dated for a year in HS. Zoey even asked Juni to prom. But as Juni grew into her own skin so to speak she realized she wasn't into girls so they became besties.

Juni loves speed skating but is banned from competing in the Olympics because trans :(

Rumi and Mira don't find Zoey anywhere near the ice rink when they first meet. Instead they are checking out the local shops before the games start and see Zoey. Zoey overhears them talking in Korean and introduces herself in Korean. Zoey talks about things they should check out while they're in town and recommends to go watch some of the games (she has no idea that they are Olympians)

The next time they see Zoey she is on the Zamboni in full "ZamZoni" gear and they are astounded.

Rumi and Mira have feelings for each other but there is a no dating team members rule in place.

After a few days of finding themselves going back to the ice rink to see Zoey they realize that they are in love with her too. this cause some angst between them because neither of them has had any dates since joining the team.

But then they craft a brilliant plan they will both date Zoey separately. This way they aren't breaking the no dating each other rule but also they both get Zoey. This leads to some high jinks and them almost getting thrown off the team. but some surprisingly positive social media response to the perceived throuple has the coach bend the rules for Mira and Rumi.

Also Juni is there helping Zoey deal with her major imposter syndrome about doing Zamboni for the Olympics and dating 2 stunning women.
