I just scrolled through your blog and realized just how many of my favorite Wels pieces are yours. Like holy shit. Your design for him is badass I don’t know how my brain didn’t connect them all before now. He’s so SHAPE and it scratches my brain in the best way.

i shall not speak on wels/hels hybrid discussion because theyre an angel and a devil forever to me. however.
while i get wanting to subvert tropes (i.e devil wels & angel hels) sometimes these headcanons just kind of. distract from the overall story that wels & hels are telling. it's about human perseverance, mental health, and the struggle to wrench yourself back onto the right path.
i like wels being an angel because it paints him as this pillar of virtue-- a messenger of heaven. it presents to you this being of pure good and then hits you straight in the face with HELSKNIGHT and he is literally stated to be the embodiment of wels' flaws. that pure good wasnt so pure after all!
wels ISNT perfect, he isnt that idealistic angel. he's human and he struggles with himself just like the rest of us. i get wanting to tie his hybrid back to medieval mythology (i.e. dragons, lions, & griffins, which were historically seen as symbols of bravery or courage) but literally whats more medieval than christian fucking mythos
