First time trying traditional food art. The strawberry one🍓 is acrylic and the blueberry 🫐is poster paint.
my grandmothers chocolate biscuit cake recipe
for the cake:
-8 ounces butter (salted)
-8 ounces of caster sugar
-1 egg
-2 tbsp of cocoa powder
-1½ packet of plain biscuits
for the icing
-chocolate (whatever flavor you like)
instructions:
1. put a saucepan on the stove, put the heat up to max.
2. place the butter into the saucepan.
3. when the butter is nearly completely melted, pour in the sugar and mix.
4. beat the egg in a separate bowl, add a splash of water to the egg and then put it into the saucepan.
5. lower the heat to whatever temperature you like.
6. add in the cocoa powder and mix.
7. once all mixed in, take the saucepan off the heat and let it cool down till it is about room temperature. You should be able to touch the saucepan without getting burnt.
8. put the biscuits into a bag and smash them up until they are all in small pieces (not grinded up).
9. add the biscuits into your mixture and mix it all together.
10. put it into a bread pan with parchment paper. Make sure to flatten the mixture down.
11. place the cake into the fridge and let it set overnight.
12. once the cake is set, take it out of the fridge and out of the tin.
13. melt down your chocolate (use as much as you like.
14. pour the melted chocolate on top of the cake.
15. put the cake back into the fridge and let the chocolate harden. Once hardened, you can take the cake back out and enjoy!
If you make it, reblog this and post a photo of it, I would love to see how it turned out.
