I finished all of the art for the outside in the Demonlands! Just have to do the interiors! :D
One of the things I learned that I have to focus on more is making walkways more clear. I think the docks, (which I did first, hilariously) looks the best. The hills is OK in motion, because the player is high contrast on the hills. But the Obsidan Palace is a mess. It's so unclear where the walkways are. Now, it's a small part of a game and I already spent like a day on it, so Idk if I'll do more on it because I kinda gotta move on. (I did a count and I have like 80 more maps and 90+ body poses, not counting faces OR sprite animations. Yikes!)
But stay tuned because I also finished all the maps in the Abyss (and I even started the puzzle down there!) and I think they're waaaay better! Yay! Growth!

I made a bunch of little physical drawings for my real-life friends that I sent them for the holidays. Finally got to open them as a group, so now I can post them publicly without spoiling things!

"Amaiguri, how are we doing with the rise of censorship?"
Personally, fine, but culturally, subpar. None of my games have gotten sniped by bad Australian feminists yet, but just you wait...
On the bright side, the art for Telethens continues on!
The maps in this city are quite large and detailed, so many of them have taken multiple days to complete. You'd probably be surprised how much time goes into debugging the layering of the maps -- making sure that things appear above and below the characters, as appropriate. It is multiple hours per map usually and it's very very annoying. At my last count, I have 32 more real maps to go and 14 tiny transition maps! The end is in sight!
I am actually minorly worried about the condition of my body -- with both my wrist and hip beginning to feel sore quite regularly. I am trying to integrate more stretches into my work cycle. But I /AM/, once again, tentatively regaining my confidence in the project -- even if my YouTube numbers are bad right now and even if my Wishlist numbers aren't where I want them to be. I know everyone wants to tell me it's "not about the numbers" but it kinda is. I was telling some of my other game dev friends that it's like I swing from delusionally confident that I'll make a million dollars and then convinced that I'm actually wasting my life and my fiance's money. He keeps trying to assure me that I am young and I can still figure out what I want to do with my "career," but he's like... an intensely successful geological engineer, so like, what does HE know lol? Jk, I love him so much.
I have no idea what I would do if I wasn't doing this though...
Lastly, if even ONE PERSON comments on my neologisms, I will KILL. Maybe not you, but I will kill again :P
