Throwback Thursday reaches to 1991 Back left, that’s me and I wouldn’t believe it my self, but yeah, that’s me alright. I used to work as a DJ for KLDR/KAJO radio for a few years. One of my teachers from high school asked me if I would be interested in being on the radio and I jumped at the chance. Most of the time I was on the FM side but on Sundays I would work the AM. Having that job opened a lot of doors for me, BJ Calvert took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. Had the chance to work along side Carl Wilson and Chris Barnett, both still here in the Rogue Valley. Hot Air Balloon rides, kite flying, and good times. This weekend, June 1st 2nd, and 3rd Come celebrate Summer, family time, and southern Oregon! @caleblaplante and @gpballoonfest folks have been working hard to get this event “off the ground” and things are going great. Michio Hoshino, a well known photographer that took photos of dangerous wildlife was mauled to death inside his tent while on a shoot back in 1996. Discovered on his camera was this photo, the last one he took. Grants Pass is lucky to have such an organization such as the Active Club. They work hard every year to bring one of the towns biggest events of the year, Boatnik. Well it’s their 60th year anniversary and I would personally like to thank them for doing such an awesome job giving back to the community.
