A little while ago I brought my best friend since childhood to meet her. Turns out they are almost exactly alike. Same tragic backstory, same taste in clothes (even owning many of the same pieces) same interests, just same same same. I did NOT plan or expect that, btw, it just happened. I collect them I guess.

Last night I learned that meeting my best friend has silenced my dear friend’s anxiety over whether or not I actually like her; because if my best friend is someone I have cherished since childhood and call a sister, and they are basically the same person, and I love her, that MUST mean I love my dear friend as well. After all, I already had one of them and still CHOSE to add to my collection.

I hate this mentality so much. Like holy shit. 9/10 you are trying to appease someone who doesn't even like you in the first place no matter what you do.
