hey kanmom, it somehow feels like during this era jikook and yoongi seems to be grown apart. Idk if this is entirely true but during the tour and promotions there were very limited moments between both Jimin and Jungkook with Yoongi
I get what you're saying. I think it's not about them interacting less and more about us getting much less content to see these interactions.
The content we are getting from the company is meh.
Other than Hot ones, the promotion content felt rigid, disconnected, there was a clear push of certain duos (I mean you had to be blind not to notice which pairings seemed to be constantly sat together and which duo seemed to be separated by as many other members as possible most of the time).
From the start of this comeback we've been seeing the emphasis being on certain members more than others. It shows in the content clips and it shows very clearly in the camera work for the concerts. You have to be blind not to notice this.
The company content feels sanitized, sterilized.
Much shorter behind videos. More so clips than videos. Gone are the days of 20 to 40 minute behinds. The moments of interaction we get are millisecond long mostly.
We are getting very little doses of Jikook in this official content, crumbs really (thank god for concert fan cams). Not holding my breath for memories this time. The feeling I'm getting is that there has been a shift in how they want to show them to us. Gone are the days of seeing them in their best and worst. I am trying to think how to put this into words. It feels cold and disconnected.
Idk if this is something the members wanted - this disconnect from us, the fans, in an attempt to create a barrier of sorts, now that they have grown and feel the need for more privacy, or if this is about Westernizing them and their content, to be more like what you would get from a Western artist - again, creating this distance from the fans. Either way, it's created a feeling of disconnect from the members, a coldness of sorts in the way their content is coming through.
Now to Yoongi and Jikook.
I don't think there is a disconnect between them. I think that they are the same as always. We are just not getting to see it because we are getting zero to no proper behind content. For example, we wouldn't know that JK goes running with YG if not for YG's vlog, right? We also have a few fan cam Yoonmin interactions from the concerts that show all is well with those two.
Add to that the fact that as a whole YG has been super quiet since the end of his service. Some is his choice, but I do feel like some of him not being highlighted in the content is a company decision due to the scooter "scandal" (Like ffs, it's done and dusted, he paid the "price", just let him be). Idk if it's just me, but it does feel like YG has been moved to the back in this comeback. Less involved. Less visible.
So, to answer your question, I think that JM and JK are as close with YG than ever. We're just not seeing it in the company content, which is sanitized and in a sense manipulated (not that interactions are not genuine or not happening organically, it's just that they are choosing which of those interactions to show us in the content).
