―somewhere along the lines, i know i will run out of words and all the regrets of the unspoken will leave me submerged in the waters. so in-between these lines and in all the spaces that separates my verses, there will always be a distance holding us together. this is a promise; a forever bathing in blues of the afternoon sun where we stand still. some day when my pen will give up on me, i want to build a house for you with my bones and you will know that there’s love in giving up too.

―somewhere between the things that were left unsaid and some, of which we spoke of, your heart will mend. as we fall more and more out of this unannounced love, you`ll grow up leaving me behind at the platform of the shared chapters of our lives. somewhere between us holding onto each other and then cutting all the strings, we`ll stop missing each other every night. as we walk more and more in the opposite directions, we`ll only cross each other at the hallways of our shared memories during some occasional sunsets. this love of ours will grow and wither and yet it will always remain as strong as the history that can never be erased. no matter how much we grow apart, this love in this past is the reason of what we are to each other.

―it`s been a moment since i`ve realized―i'm a lifetime late. you don't recognise me anymore from across the street or recall my favourite time of the day or the mornings i brought you your favourite coffee at your study desk. when i look at you, you don`t remember me anymore and when i write you letters, you don`t recognize my script. it`s now safe to believe that you are now a lifetime ahead of me, leaving me in a room with nothing but our unfinished memories. and, i still ever so gently want to explore that mind of yours.

―all of this is not a coincidence. my heart was supposed to be broken like this. i was supposed to feel this aching hollowness. this sweet damnation was meant to be bestowed upon me by your own sun-kissed hands. you were born to haunt me through and through every sunset of my definite existence. but do tell me, why do i miss you more than i can remember you? tell me, is this your way of convincing me that i`m alive and warm? tell me, will it really feel like a lung in me is missing if i ever stumble upon you on an unfamiliar street? maybe this is all destined to be – my heart, all torn, tattered and half-empty, all abandoned under the tree in front of our school gates where we used to meet, where you don`t go anymore, where i`m a forgotten history.

―here lays my love for you, these feelings i`ve bottled up for years. i pour them out all to you. to you, who always looked at me with those kind eyes, do you ever wonder why i never dared to look you in the eyes? apologies in advance because i can`t bring myself to answer that question of yours. so, for now - here only lays my love for you, these feelings i`ve kept safe and sound for years, on this new year, i gift them all to you hoping in silence may they remain at the corner of your heart lest they grow old aimlessly inside my own.

―i crumble up yet another piece of paper, that joins the pile of the fifty same ones. in my head, i struggle and i wish i was a better wordsmith so that they convey enough of what i have for you in my heart. i curse and cry as i scramble through the memory of the one who taught me to pick up my pen and write my first poem. i close my eyes and here i am again, in the same old school library, running my fingertips over the spine of the books i once read. no, they don`t have them too. those words don`t convey even half of what i feel for you. so in the end, i realize that you`re indescribable. you`re a masterpiece i`ve discovered. you`re someone i don`t deserve, someone who brings me to my knees, someone for whom my words will evermore run dry.

―i watch over you every day through these time zones which have grown in-between us. this will be not the end if that`s what you`re thinking. i`ve saved a spot for you somewhere in me. even if you`ve moved on, even though you`ve decided to not give love another chance, one day when you fall into a tunnel of love, let that tunnel be the spot i saved up for you―a safe one, a warm one on cold nights & a cool one on a warm sunrise.

—happiness`s been taking the longest route to reach me most days. but i still wake up every day only to wait for the afternoons to come and sweep me in its cozy arms and tells me i`m loved. even thought, half of it is a lie i still listen. i listen because i crave for it. i listen because i want to imagine. my insides are still stuck in the mindset of a ten years old who was till then standing at the station, waiting for a certain unknown train. little did he knew that the ticket he was holding was given to him by the devil himself because when the said train passed by, eleven years passed by right in front of his eyes  and, even till to this very second, he still waits for happiness. he says, let happiness take the longest route because i`m greedy for the happiness that only visited me eleven years ago.
