So the new Comms guys from the England Team came up to Glasgow today to chew the fat about their plans, so rather than eat another burger, I asked someone else in the team to decide where we should take them for lunch. Yo Sushi! Great. A break from the burgers...... BOOM! SUSHI BURGERS! YAS! On the menu they looked like rice cake sandwiches. But reality was a wee bit different, as the pictures show. The rice 'buns' were about the size of a MacDonalds Cheeseburger, 1cm thick and made of what appeared to be sushi rice which had been cooked (fried in soy sauce?) on each side and served warm. Our waitress said that they came directly from Japan. I had the Tilapia Burger, which was basically a small fillet of white fish in breadcrumbs, with shredded lettuce and a burger sauce. It was easier to eat than it looked, and held together relatively well, although I got someone else to take the Money Shot (above) as I wasn't sure that the burger would stand up to me putting it down to take a photo. Delicious. Just the right mixture of fish v carbs and salty soy v creamy sauce. Sides were some odd looking crackers - like Prawn Crackers with a salt and pepper middle - and a spicy carrot coleslaw. The dipping sauce - Misochup (!) - was excellent too. Overall - a great experience, and good value for £8. They are currently offered as a special, so get there while stocks of imported rice buns last :)
