Have you ever wanted to befriend a Teapot That's Too Scared To Bungee Jump? I haven't. For most of my life I didn't know it was an option. But after being presented with the possibility, yeah, I would like to befriend that!
It's probably obvious that this creature is based entirely on wordplay that absolutely does not translate. Its Japanese name, Banjī Kyūsu, comes from "banjikyūsu" (an expression of lost hope), "banjī" (bungee jumping), and "kyūsu" (small teapot). It's a good joke! I appreciate it. But more than that, I appreciate that people considered this joke, and decided to make it a character. A fellow. A fellow whose entire existence is depicting this one extremely specific situation. The localizers did a surprisingly great job with Humtea Jumtea! Very fun, very silly, very appropriate!
Will Humtea Jumtea ever work up the nerve to bungee jump...? Yes. It will! Hooray! Humtea Jumtea has character development. Its Soultimate move, Elastiwhack, has it bungee right into its opponents, which it has, because this is a monster battling RPG, remember that! This Teapot That's Too Scared To Bungee Jump has Stats, and a Special Attack. It can fight a chicken nugget.
You can find it just sort of lurking in the branches of a tree. It's just like Mourning Dove! Humtea Jumtea keeps getting better and better! Imagine a teapot that makes mourning dove coos instead of the typical whistle... the hotter it gets, the higher the pitch. Strategically raise and lower the heat to play your favorite songs in the iconic Mourning Dove soundfont! Who let the dogs out? Who? Whoo-OOO-ooo?
I admit, I did not use Humtea Jumtea at all in my playthrough of YKW3. I did befriend it, of course, but it is sadly E-rank, making it among the weakest of the weak. But I shouldn't let that stop me! I'm not playing for competition! And better yet, this game includes an item that can raise a Yo-Kai's rank, meaning Humtea Jumtea could be S-rank. That's the rank they gave Charles Darwin in this game! Even though that guy hated barnacles!
