Just in case someone else is interested in this explanation, the fanart we’re talking about, drawn by Ymir, is this one:

As everything in my fanfictions, this scene is built on and permeated by a strong symbolism. Considering what was happening - Pitch angry, but also scared and confused, willing to destroy the Big Four, but only in order to “protect” Jack, then not minded to sacrifice him, I opted for a simple “good, bad and in between”, which was rather perfect to represent Pitch’s evolution in that moment.Good is represented by Jack, obviously on the right. I asked Ymir to characterize it with light colours and a rather tidy background - as you can see, there are few broken trees behind Jack, a lot of shiny snow and no blood at all, and a nice grass.Evil is represented by Behemuth, on the left. I asked Ymir to characterize it with dark colours and a cluttered background - as you can see, all the trees are bent and broken, there’s no snow at all and blood everywhere, and mud on the ground. The evil symbolism is strengthened by Behemuth’s form - he’s half snake, and the snake is ab illo tempore related to evil.Finally, the in between, represented by Pitch and placed in between the other two characters. I asked Ymir to characterize it with a commingling of the two main manichaean elements, then there you find plently of snow, but not as bright and clean as on the right, blood, but not as abundant as on the left, both untouched and broken trees, and some grass stained by mud.If you look closely, you’ll see Pitch is actually a bit more on the left, rather than in the middle. That’s due to the fact that, in that moment, by keeping Behemuth free and winded up, he actually chose to be more evil than good; moreover, that’s also a little preview of what’s gonna happen to him - being drawn into the pure evil. Anyway, as you can see, he’s reaching out for Jack, so, albeit his body is still evil, his heart is longing for the good.

Bonus:

- beside the “good, evil and in between” symbolism, there’s also the “rational, irrational and in between” one. The ratio, intended in its philosophical meaning, is represented by Jack, always ready to talk with Pitch and the other Guardians, to explain and understand any possible doubt or problem and so reach a peaceful serenity. I asked Ymir to characterize it with clear lines and bright colours. Its opposite is represented by Behemuth, not even able to think, or perceive a sensation apart from the desire to make the world fall into chaos and live on it, always ready to attack, destroy and devour. I asked Ymir to characterize it with blurred outlines and dull colours. Pitch, obviously, stands between them because he’s torn between them: irrational in his aim to destroy everyone and everything and live as a master, having all under his control, but terribly and tragically rational in his wish to protect Jack from anything, even from himself

- the Moon. Have you noticed it’s decidedly on the right? That’s because, in that moment, MiM acted good. I didn’t mention this at all in the fanfiction - in fact the Moon is on the background, almost more a spectator than an actor. I did that because that wasn’t the right moment to introduce my MiM to you, but, anyway, he intervened when Pitch fell, silently helping him to dispel Behemut’s remnaints and pushing them into the hole they should have remained into
