Community potlucks at Olympia, WA
Our mission is to gather friends for a weekly potluck lunch by engaging, mobilizing and supporting the Olympia community to have meaningful dialogs on poverty and homelessness.
WHERE: At the Capital: Legislative Building - Columbia Room (Subject to change due to availability)
WHEN: Every Wednesday at noon
WHY: Currently, there are no weekly scheduled potlucks in Olympia that brings the community together. By hosting the event at the Capital, we convey the many faces of poverty to the government officials as we are all only few pay checks away from becoming homeless. By having a weekly event as a community will enable us to identify the resources that are needed and where we can reallocate resources. I.E., hair stylists, coupons for laundry mats, toiletries and pro bono medical care.
WHO: Organizations, not-for-profits, business, and faith communities coming together to co-hosting a potluck.
