Could you so something with dark and Ethan with fluff plz???
“I’m tired of fighting!” Ethan yelled. “For once, I want to be fought for.”
[I promise there’s fluff at the end…]
Ethan was busy preparing dinner in the kitchen when he heard the front door slam. He turned his head away from his consistent stirring to look over his shoulder to find the origin of the sound. Ethan took the spoon out of the metal pot as he raised it, ready to attack whoever came.
Ever since he started dating Mark and Dark, it got to the point where he wasn’t sure what to expect to show up in their apartment.
The sound of keys clattering in the distance and the bed creaking announced it was just Mark. Ethan let out a breath of relief, he returned to the stove and continued to stir. He heard the patter of socks on tile and then felt a pair of arms wrap around his stomach, a head nestling into the crook of his neck.
“How was work?” Ethan asked, acknowledging his presence but not daring to take his eyes off the sauce. This was probably the most crucial part. Take your eyes off for one second and it’s burnt.
“Hmmph,” he replied. Ethan felt his boyfriend shuffle a little and the feeling of sharp canines alerted him it was Dark.
“Dinner’s almost ready. Don’t even think about giving me another one of those. Mark’s already a mess whenever he even sees a bruise on my body,” Ethan said, turning down the heat at the right moment as he gradually lessened his stirring.
“Hmm, won’t he be angry,” Dark mumbled. Ethan rolled his eyes.
“Don’t be like that, not to mention what will the others think if I show up with bite marks over hickeys. They’re going to think Mark’s a monster,” Ethan added. Dark scoffed
“And who do you care about more?” Dark said, obvious annoyance in his tone. Ethan sighed, knowing exactly where this would go.
“I love you both,” Ethan replied.
“Clearly not if you’re more concerned about his image over my love for you.”
Dark crossed his arms over his chest, glaring at Ethan with a telltale look that he’s ready to argue.
Ethan set the pot to the side and the spoon next to the sink. He wiped his hands on a towel and looked at Dark with a squint, attempting to quietly warn him.
“Just say it once. You love Mark more than me,” Dark mumbled.
“Dark, that’s not the tru–”
“Say it, Ethan. ‘I love Mark over Darkiplier’. You probably practice it to yourself in the shower when I can’t hear. Or maybe you mutter it to everybody else whenever we’re not around.” Dark started to stalk closer to Ethan, the latter slowly backing away, scared by how much bulkier he was.
“Dark, i’m not going to say it because it’s not true. I love you both equally. You’re just selfish.”
“Oh, I’m selfish now?” Ethan knew he had set him off then. “Oh, and Mark’s not? Mark’s so much more selfish than me. Especially when it comes to you. I love you and i’m here for you often. Mark’s always ‘busy’ or ‘too tired’ or ‘stressed out’. Well so am I, and i’m still here to give you my love.”
“no, let me finish. Mark clearly doesn’t love you as much as I do. I love you so much and you don’t even realize. You uphold him because he’s human. I’m the monster here, I guess. I’m the thing inside his mind that comes to life. Do you even realize how much I–”
“Dark!” Ethan shouted, “I understand. And that is not true at all! Yes, Mark has his moments, but so do you. We’re fighting already!”
“We’re not fighting, i’m just stating something that’s obvious but you’re too stupid to realize it!”
It was Ethan’s turn to scoff, raising a finger and jamming it into his chest.
“I am not stupid, Dark. In fact, that’s your flaw right there! Mark may be busy just as much as you are an asshole. You’re always trying to pick an argument with me. And I’m sick of it!”
“I am not trying to fight you. I love you, Ethan. Why can’t you realize this?!”
“Because I am tired of fighting!” Ethan yelled, almost on the brink of despair. “For once, I want to be fought for…”
The last bit came out slightly cut out, his voice quivering. Dark sighed, looking down and realizing his mistake. His flaw.
“Shit… you’re right,” he mumbled. Ethan looked at him, not sure if he heard him correctly.
“I… I do fight with you a lot, don’t I?” The bulkier man took a seat as he put his head between his hands. “Goddamit, i’m sorry. i’m so sorry.”
Ethan sighed, sitting next to him and patting his back.
“Dark… forget about it. Just… it’s fine.”
Dark looked up, staring at Ethan with a torn expression. “Are you sure?”
Ethan looked at him and inhaled quietly. “We get over it. We always do… and do you know why?”
“Because I love you. And the fact that I love you should be enough to prove to you that regardless of your stupid attempts at arguing with me… i’ll still love you… because deep down you love me too. And that’s good enough for me.”
Dark nodded his head quietly, letting Ethan kiss his forehead the way he finds comfort in it. Ethan stood up, continuing to prepare dinner for them. Dark finds himself watching Ethan move around the kitchen happily, glad he hadn’t upset him and ruined his mood. Dark had a few things to get used to, being in love now. But he was willing to change if it meant being with Ethan.
‘Don’t you break this for us,’ he could hear Mark calling out in the back of their mind.
“Not in a million years…” Dark whispered, smiling at the sight of Ethan’s happiness.
