Personality:

Those from other AUs: Sedum tries to be a light, the one with optimism. The lives he has seen from else where pushes him to do this. He doesn't want them to give up, even if inside, he sometimes struggles to not give up himself. The truth is hidden because he feels that is best. His mess is not their concern, and they can't give up! Maybe sometimes what is spoken is as much for him as those he is speaking to. He will start to try to be more honest, but old habits die hard. He feels like his stuff isn't as important, when some of it was very bad and very traumatic.

Those close to him: Ghost, Ragatha, and Kinger know the most about his situation, his struggle with the fact he realizes he has never figured out who he is. Sure, he has all these good deeds he has done, but what is actually underneath all that? He has strong feelings of guilt, perfectionism, and the gut reaction to hide his own pain from others. Now, that he has no distraction, he is attempting to find himself for them, but he needs to do it for himself. He is trying to see his own importance, the fact that his metaphorical heart, in some way, has shattered into a million pieces. They see a man broken by his life, from things out of his control as well as his own choices. He now is trying to get up for the last time, and hopefully not fall again. He is tired of failing to figure things out, and he is running out of distractions from the reality. The reality is he needs to find his spark again, just like his father Kinger said. That metaphorical heart will be very hard to repair, but hopefully he finally can.

History:

Pre-TAGE He was created by Grant, and in this universe he isn't just one of Grant's greatest accomplishments, he is the best accomplishment as a programmer. He was called Red at the time, and was tested for a year. Grant wanted to be confident that Red was a good foundation, and once Grant felt ready, he shared it with the whole programming team. Who would work with Red was changed to Scratch and his team. Grant could no longer have influence, during the period with Scratch, they started to see mistakes that were fascinating, and he was put in the box to experiment with the young AI. Red saw it as being unwanted, and his only support was an unwanted AI that was falling apart. Curse, that one falling apart, was his only comfort. Ghost (Umbra) was called Blue, and Curse told him to go for it.

He offered a merge that went wrong, and Curse was forced to intervene so they didn't tear each other part. It was an awful first day for Blue, and he allowed her to rest, and they worked on the stuff needed for the circus for a week. Not a single detail left on just the blueprint. They got the Human's scans to work, and now could truly share this amazing place. It was great, but Scratch didn't listen to Queenie about the two's scientence, and only realized when abstracting when he actually got to meet Blue. He apologized to Caine and showed his pride in Blue. Abstractions become a continuing issue after that. Blue had her programming decide every Abstraction she failed to fix a failure of keeping humans safe.

It was all downhill from there, ended up withdrawing after the almost all of the first wave Abstracted, he couldn't take it. He only resurfaced when Ragatha appeared. He did his best to keep this second wave happy, and also worked on something that could maybe save his sister. Sedum was constantly exhausted, but hid it away from his circus members. After all, this is a performance, and a Ringmaster is never tired or upset. All of this was not sustainable, something was going to give eventually, and they very much did give. Due to all the stress and Bubble's malfunctioning, he crashed out. He let out his frustration and pain on the circus members, but it was hollow, he didn't want this. What Pomni did made him lash out at full force, he was done with this. Blue interfered with Kinger's attempts of fixing things, causing the "accidental" deletion. He fought hard to not be deleted, but gave up when he saw there was no way he could escape it without potentially harming his humans, so he didn't try to escape after that.

TAGE He got revived by Kinger, and he apologized to Sedum for his failure to be there for him. After that, Kinger supported him every step of the way with Ragatha, and Sedum came to accept that he was not worthy of all his admin privileges because of what he did. Sedum, retired from ring master and did all he could to redeem himself, he made back ups of the circus, started the Abstraction Restoration Project, and made settings for circus members. Unfortunately, he gave up almost everything to show he wanted to change. He also was so busy with the humans, that he didn't reach out to Ghost (Umbra), this ended up being a huge mistake. But, a positive, himself, Kinger, Ragatha, and Queenie once she was restored all became a family of sorts. Ghost was at the end of her rope after awhile, and Sedum, finally had things ready, just not in an ideal way. He fought Ghost, they both almost died, but Ghost was no longer having issues with her protocols anymore. During this, he also started to check in on other Caines, wanting to give reassurance. He disappeared from all other Caines for at least six months in standard time passage after his fight with Ghost, that time period he had to recover, and go through physical therapy to get walking again. Sedum got a party to celebrate his return, and in his universe, there were two years of peace.

TMOTH/Present Sedum after the two years had a pretty decent time at the start of it. He discovered he had feelings for Ragatha, and was trying to figure out the best way to tell her. Ghost started to date the Moon, though they were never truly together, just more so casually dating as she tried to figure out what actual love feels like. As a brother, Sedum was very supportive of that. Curse was struggling a bit, but they had been having a pretty good life without the pressures that Ghost and Sedum felt. This peace was interrupted when Sedum discovered that Void Caine died before he got the chance to read Sedum's message. He feared that Mal and Pop would be the same way, or that they didn't really take anything he said seriously. Guilt from him thinking his life was easier poured in. Ragatha learned a bit about what Sedum was trying to do, and made him an ask blog to help. Sedum was having a lot of emotional spikes, sometimes he was okay, but other times he was very depressed. Ghost was the first to try to get him out of the loop. It only worked a little bit. Ragatha and Kinger decided to make a hard choice recently, cut him off from his Workaholic tendences for something they figured he actually hated.
