I watched Bioman on Sunday mornings on then IBC 13. I don't remember much of their origin stories, or how a series ended, or if it ever ended, for that matter. After the local historical significance of the Voltes V cancellation, it wasn't too weird for series to go on loop.

I was 7 years old when I watched Yellow 4 die. I thought, "Bah she'll be back next Sunday."

When they recruited a different Yellow 4, it was a weird mix of denial and confusion. I still thought she'd make some kind of comeback.

I didn't find it in me to ask about death, or the politics of recasting or whatnot. I somehow accepted it as something that happens to grown-ups, that would make sense eventually. And it did.

Though every time some character made a comeback in other series, I always remembered the first Yellow 4.

I think it was only recently I finally came to terms with my feelings as, "What the hell was that?!"
