Welcome Handlers, to another entry for Asset Management and Reclamation guidebook.
In today's entry, we'll be going over another uncommon archetype. And dispelling any misinformation on these interesting Assets, while going on to shed light on their wonderful traits.
Most people regardless of origin, understand that Hyenas are a fierce and savage group. Well known for combat prowess both in armor, and as a simple grunt. And while these notions aren't inherently incorrect, that's often where knowledge tends to cease. Most Handlers don't seem to bother with even attempting at recruitment, under the understanding that these rascals are not easy to manage. They'll fight with command if they dislike something that was said, and they'll butt heads on the battlefield if they believe something unsatisfactory. However, these acts aren't in poor taste. As they're not so subtle with how they care, valuing others in their squad highly.
Much akin to Hounds, Hyenas are a pack archetype. Doing well with reading attacks, and providing a unique viewpoint on support. "The enemy can't hurt my squad, if I've taken care of the enemy." Resulting in them cleaving paths in enemy lines, just to encourage their allies to press the advantage. Blending together their individual skills, with unparalleled knowledge of the battlefield and squad tactics.
Off the field these rambunctious figures, tend to be lively with both a knack for partying away the energy they built up during a sortie. It's not uncommon to hear the cackling of a hyena echoing through the barracks, all while they drink and celebrate another day lived. What also isn't uncommon, is their innate nature to "Mother" other Assets. Much like the Ursa archetype [Data entry still in production], their powerful maternal instincts often lead to them tucking pilots under their care. Which often leads to further discourse between a Handler and said Hyena, as once they've marked an Asset as under their care. They will fight viciously with anyone, that dares bring harm to their adoptive wards. Regardless of the asset's age and rank.
While it isn't advised to attempt domestication of these ruffians, having a few in your lineup is always a good sign. As success rates will proceed to climb, while casualty rates will fall. Which we at the DAMR, believe is worth occasionally butting heads with these girls.
WARNING!! DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GET INTO A FIGHT WITH A HYENA, THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR RANK AS MOST TEND TO BE MERCENARIES. AND WILL HAPPILY RIP YOUR THROAT FROM YOUR NECK, ALL WHILE LAUGHING WITH GLEE. DO NOT AGITATE OR ANTAGONIZE!!!!
yeens anyone?
