Happy Lunar New Year! π β New Year, New Calendar!
The calendar project began in 2014 as an exploration of formats, materials, and typefacesβa way to create a unique piece of art that is both beautiful and functional. Each year, I use the Lunar New Year as a starting point, where the combination of an animal and an element sets the theme.
2025 is the Year of the Wood Snake. To be honest, Iβve never been a fan of snakesβthey often carry a negative connotation. At one point, I even considered skipping the poster this year. But then I saw it as a challenge: how can I shift the perspective, turning something feared into something inspiring?
This year, more than ever, feels intense on many levels. But just like the snake, which symbolizes wisdom, transformation, and renewal, I wanted to create something that reminds us that even in difficult times, there is beauty and growth to be found. So hereβs to shedding old fears, embracing new opportunities, and sending out good energy for all of us to accomplish our goals.
Happy Year of the Snake 2025! πβ¨
