Wondering if this new movie I've been hearing about, "Call Me by Your Name" is going to have the same impact as "Carol". Thoughts?
Hi anon! Please excuse the delay in replying to you… it’s been a hectic week! I was hoping too see Call Me By Your Name prior to answering you, in order to give a really thorough response, but I just didn’t have the time and I don’t think I will be seeing this until it gets a more general release in January 2018.
Will it have the same impact as Carol? No, I don’t think so. I think it’ll have a completely different type of impact. It’s about two men. It has a typical good old fashioned ending that you would have seen back in 1974. It’s not going to get called “boring” and “slow” and “unbelievable.” It’s going to get all the praise, love, and critical acclaim that Carol ought to have received.
