amy, how does it feel being engaged to jake?
she is happiness personified,  her smile shines as bright as the sun. sheâs always been happy with jake, but this â this is on a whole different level. as a child, she often dreamed about what the man she would spend the rest of her life with would be like. she never once imagined it would be someone like jake peralta but at this point in her life,  ( for the past several years, if sheâs being truly honest with herself )  heâs exactly that man. heâs messy and chaotic and he lives his life as though heâs free falling from the sky, sheâs careful and organized and lives her life according to a set life plan  â  and yet they complete each other, two halves of a whole. her heart hasnât stopped hammering in her chest since the moment she turned to find him kneeling on the floor of the evidence lockup  ( note to self : make sure those jeans are thorougly cleaned. the evidence lockup is disgusting. )  and she canât imagine itâll stop anytime soon. the ring sparkles even in the dim light of the bar and she only manages to tear her gaze away from it to look at jake, her fiancĂ©. her heart is full in a way sheâs never experienced before and she knows, without a shadow of a doubt, that sheâll never forget this moment.
