The day of speed and sound
27th November, a very exciting morning as we have been lucky to get hands on bargain tickets to Formula One at Abu Dhabi.We set on a small green hill watching the cars pass by and experiencing the sound in our hearts. It shakes your body and gives a rush when the cars pass by with such high speed.
After the watching the practice session we went to Ferrari World which is an fun park with roller coasters, entertainment and the history of Ferrari as well as racing. At this park what you cannot miss is sitting on the world’s fastest roller coasters. It’s speed is 240hm/h. The feeling of experiencing the ups and downs is indescribable, super fast! It was definitely an experienec! When I stepped out of the ride my legs were shaking and my breath, heart was quick from the rush of adrenaline. It goes so quick that you need to wear protection glasses for your eyes. We looked like race car drivers in the them.
Geert and Ilse liked the ride so much that they went back for a second time to sit in the first row to feel an even more intense experience. Before the ride takes off, the car and the track is sprayed with a layer of mist. When you sit in the first row and the ride launches you can feel the little drops smashing to your face leaving a biting feeling in your cheeks. With Mirjam we went back to see part of a qualification to feel again the atmosphere of F1 as it was really special to us. On the evening light everything was clearer, brighter and lighten up palm trees made the hill very romantic scenery.
Our bargain ticket included entry to Enrique Iglesias concert at one of the sections in the Ferrari Building. Wow he did such a performance! He came really close to the audience and he invited one of his fan on the stage. The guy was wearing the same hard as Enrique and had a t-shirt with his picture on. They had such a moment on stage with singing together and giving lot of hugs. To complete the evening he performed my favourite song: El Perdon.
