Yarnlove Challenge Day 4: Generation This isn't going to be a happy post, but it's an honest one. I am, to my knowledge, the only knitter in my family. And unless circumstances change and a miracle occurs, I'll likely be the last in my line. Which means that at some point in the future, someone is going to go through all my things after I am gone. My precious works of art will be tossed out or donated to the local thrift store, where they will sit and languish until someone picks them up for a Halloween costume for $2. No one will care about the time or effort that went into these things, unless by some miracle another knitter stumbles upon them. I can't help but feel so sad seeing all the rejected knit and crochet projects when we go thrifting. Someone made these, likely for someone precious. I have to talk myself out of buying all of them, saving them, giving them a new home. But sometimes I can't help myself. The two blankets in the picture were such pieces. I have them on display on the backs of chairs, within easy reach to snuggle up with when it gets cold. They have a new life, new people to love them. And it makes me hope that the people who made them would be happy about that. #yarnlovechallenge #yarnlovechallengefeb #yarnlovechallenge2019 https://www.instagram.com/p/Btecq43FbBT/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1ri93980x20gp
