i usually don't like doing this because these things feel extremely presumptuous to say as somebody who doesnt actually know these people, but it's gotten to the point where i feel the need to do more than just talk in the privacy of blissblrcord. just keep in mind this is only my perspective, as somebody who tries to watch nearly every Bliss stream
ripping the bandaid off: the way Puqi's been acting recently has been genuinely atrocious for the viewing experience on Bliss. "genuinely atrocious" might be an understatement, actually—anecdotally, it's made me and quite a few other fans purposefully disengage with Project Andromeda as a storyline, which is sad because a lot of effort was put into it off screen. but that's just the truth
Puqi can antagonize other players and affect plot and character progression from a dimension that is completely unreachable through conventional means, meaning people basically cannot interact with him in ways he doesn't permit. this is not an exaggeration. it has been proven with the whole WOMD thing, which he actively rolled back because he "didn't greenlight" the OSC and the plugin that allowed it to be used as intended. it is genuinely baffling to watch people making content on an unscripted SMP act like they're allergic having things happen to them that they can't control
coupled with the proven streamsniping and fact that seemingly nothing substantial can be done about it because he has super special owner privileges that he seemingly uses to avoid consequences, this is fucking terrible for stream content, and you can tell because it looks like actual members are getting mad at it too. it's overall extremely difficult to believe Puqi actually cares about what he's talking about when it comes to prioritizing content and the viewer experience, and it's aggravating to hear him bring up fairness while he blatantly breaks rules and has a long record of OP abusing. i genuinely hope something changes soon and fast
How does one write this "dialogue" that thou hath spoken without wanting to throw your PC into the nearest ravine? I shall graciously accept any and all advice on this matter.
this year i am putting energy towards making my hobbies more accessible so i actually do them. and it is working!
I need to be hypnotized not cuz of anything sexy but because i apparently have this think called “trauma” and now my body can’t relax on its own

I really dislike when people say "Well Sonic isn't that popular in Japan, and is more popular in America." to dismiss concerns of the franchise and characters changing.
Idc if it's not as popular in Japan, I don't think it justifies stripping the franchise of it's identity and changing the characters to cater to a western audience, especially when many Sonic fans love Sonic for his og characterization and miss when the franchise had more unity in the 2000s
Yes, you may have made it more "marketable" but it's less Sonic now
This is why I think American superiority in the fandom is a huge issue. The constant denial of Sonic's roots, the improper and inaccurate localization just being accepted as much as the original intention, the term "JP purist" being used as some sort of disparaging insult whereas the term "US purist" doesn't exist because America is seen as default, as the normal thing to be.
The "Sonic is more popular in America" argument is always deflection. I always find it funny when people who are supposedly passionate Sonic fans start talking like shareholders. That's how you know they have no real sense of artistic or cultural integrity. They don't even mention all the other places Sonic is popular, such as Mexico, Brazil, or the UK, since Sonic is a worldwide franchise. Only Americans matter, of course.
Sonic is Japanese, point blank and simple. He is inspired by American culture for sure, such as Ohshima taking inspiration from famous American politicians and airplane nose art, but it doesn't change the fact he's made by Japanese people through a Japanese cultural lens.
drawing comics is so HARD
unleashed has so much attention to detail that sonic's leg bends on higher ground!
