Jungwon let out a chuckle as his friends joke around while they’re on their way home. The school just finished and one of his friends asked them to go to karaoke right after class. He has nothing left to do so he end up agreeing.
As they were going down the building, heading towards the locker’s area to leave some of their things there, he and his friends were goofing around with each other. They were being a little too loud but they don’t mind. Some students around them snapped their heads towards their direction because of their noise. Jungwon don’t mind because it’s usually like that. Being adored at their school, he was used with a lot of attention already.
Since it’s also the same time when students are being dismissed, the lockers area was a bit packed. A lot of students were also there doing their own things. Jungwon went straight to his locker greeting people from time to time. A lot of eyes watched him and Jungwon seems really used with it. In fact, it was like his normal days.
“Hi, Jungwon.” He snapped his head towards the girl who called his name. He gave her a small smile then raised both of his brows at her, wondering what does she wants and who is she.
“Hey,” he greeted even though he’s not familiar of her. Jungwon is also known for being nice to other people. That’s one of the reasons why a lot of girls from their school likes him.
“You heading home now?” she asked and walked closer to him.
He pursed his lips making his dimples show up as he gave her a small smile once again. He doesn’t want to be rude but he’s not gonna lie, he kind of feel uncomfortable. He doesn’t know her so he doesn’t know how he’ll interact with her.
“I’m off to karaoke with some friends.”
It was too late to take it back. He doesn’t even know why he said that to her but he tried to just shrug it off. She seems harmless anyway.
The girl pouted as she nodded her head slowly with a long face then she looked away. Jungwon had the chance to give her a quick stare from her head to toe. She looks alright, if he must say. Her straight hair hangs freely with a light brown color. She wears her uniform in a nice way too.
He glanced away when he noticed that she’s looking back at him. He closed his locker as a signal that he’s done putting things inside. The girl bit her lip and stood straight. Jungwon gave a polite smile showing off his dimples once again. He saw her blushed a little but he ignored it. For him, it was already a normal scene.
“I’ll go now. Bye,” he then waved before turning his heels and walk away from her.
His brows furrowed as he saw his friends watching from a far. They have this silly teasing expressions when he approached them. He was waiting for them to call him and somehow save him from that awkward moment but he just saw them watching.
Kim Taeyong—one of his friends wrapped his arms around his shoulder as he gave him a big grin. He rolled his eyes shaking his head. He already knew what’s coming.
“Why is Hana talking to you, Jungwon? Did she ask you out?” he started. The other two laughed and even commented on how ‘lucky’ he was to be approached by that Hana—whoever she is.
“No.” and he even tried to push Taeyong’s arms away but he held him tighter not letting the topic die. He sighed out and rolled his eyes a bit getting a little irritated. He hates it whenever his friends teased him with things like this.
“Come on! Why you keeping it as a secret huh? Dude you’re so lucky! A lot from our batch likes her.” Kyungmin added. He looked at him with a furrowed brow.
“I don’t even know her.” He hissed over them as his friend’s jaws dropped at what they heard.
They halted from their steps and stared at him weirdly. With a disoriented look on his face, Jungwon looked at each one of them. He did the side-way glances at them then pouted in confusion
“What? Did I say something wrong?”
They look at each other then back at Jungwon. Taeyong let out a big sigh before tapping his broad shoulders. “Jungwon, that’s Choi Hana. She’s basically the prettiest in our batch.” He informed the clueless bunny beside him.
Jungwon tilted his head at the side as he furrowed his brows even more. “Really?” he asked like as if he didn’t believe what his friend just said. Kyungmin let out a heavy sigh too as he held Jungwon at both of his shoulders.
“Nevermind! At least you know she likes you. You can just ask her out yourself.” He said striking his plans at him. Jungwon let out a snickered chuckle as he shakes his head continuously. He can’t believe what he’s saying right now.
He started walking as his friends quickly follow him behind. They bumped into him letting their shoulders collide to tease him even more and he just laughed it off. They’re being annoying once again. He playfully smacked Taeyong’s head as they all chuckle.
“Oh! I just remembered Jungwon. You still have my notebook!” Taeyong said. Jungwon nodded his head as he took off one strap of his bag and let it hang at the other side. He put it in front of him before opening his bag to get his friend’s notebook. He remembered that he borrowed it a while ago because he needs some notes.
While getting the notebook, they kept forcing him to ask that girl, Hana, out and Kyungmin kept on pushing him playfully. He laughed and since they’re all busy goofing around once again, they failed to notice a girl that also coming towards their way.
Jungwon stopped chuckling as he felt himself bumped into someone very delicate. His reflexes were fast enough to grab her by the arm to keep her from falling to the ground. But because of that, Jungwon lets go of his things causing it to splatter at the cold concrete. The poor girl’s things unfortunately mixed up with his.
She was fast enough to react and quickly leaned over to get her things. He looked startled for a while but quickly kneeled down to help her.
His friends were still a bit in shock so they couldn’t move from their places and just watch the two pick their things.
“I-I’m sorry, I didn’t notice you.” Jungwon stuttered with his words as he felt sorry for what happened. He slightly looked at the girl’s face but her hair was on the way.
“It’s okay. I wasn’t paying attention too.” you mumbled using your soft voice.
Jungwon’s hand halted mid-way as he heard your voice. He blushed when he noticed that he was staring too much. After he handed your things, you thanked him shortly before getting up and left. He still didn’t get to see your face fully but he did get a glimpse of it.
“You okay, dude?” Taeyong asked and even shake his shoulder a bit when they noticed Jungwon was stoned at his place.
Jungwon gulped before he stood up and turned his head over the direction where the girl went. She’s not there anymore. He stood still for a while until his friend tapped his chest to catch his attention and to snap him out of his thoughts.
His eyes looked over his friend down to the thing he’s handing over him. His brows furrow at the sight of an unfamiliar notebook.
“Is this yours? It was at the floor together with your things.” Taeyong stated.
Jungwon was silent for a while and he unconsciously smiled before getting the notebook from him. He soon placed it inside together with his other things. Jungwon don’t know but he never felt like that before. He was fascinated by someone he just saw for the very first time.
“I’m home!” Jungwon said as he yawned while entering their door with his coat hanging loosely over his shoulder. His Mom’s head popped out from the entrance of their dining area. She smiled sweetly at him.
“Oh, change your clothes the go down after. Dinner will be ready for a few minutes.” She said. Jungwon smiled at her and nodded before he went to his room.
He lazily plopped down over his bed then stared at his ceiling. His eyelids were slowly getting heavier so he shut his eyes for a while. With thoughts drowning his mind, he suddenly remembered about the notebook. He sat down and grabbed his bag from the floor beside his bed.
“Let’s see.” Jungwon’s tongue pushed over the side of his cheeks while he opened the notebook carelessly. His eyes were cutely wide open together with both brows raising out of curiosity, scanning the front page of the notebook. He ran his hands over his hair to keep them away from his eyes.
“Diary? Who still writes in diaries during this time?” he mumbled to himself and he can’t help but to put up a small smile because he finds your hand-writing cute.
“Y/n…” he read your name. The glimpse memory of your face flashed back to his mind and he unconsciously felt something tingles in his stomach.
“Even her name is pretty.” he blurted even before he can stop himself. He scanned more trying to look for more information when his brow suddenly creased.
“EH?!” he put the notebook closer so he can check if he just read it right.
“She lives three houses away from my house?!” voice came out with a surprised tone. He is well aware that he don’t know everyone in the village he lives in but how come he didn’t come across with you even once?
He can’t help but to smile at the thought that he can give it back tomorrow morning. Excitement grew in his system as he shrugged his shoulders off and decided to put the notebook at his bed-side table. He doesn’t want to go read some more because he doesn’t want to invade something private. It’s your diary after-all. But when he was about to turn around to go and change his clothes, he accidentally nudged it and the diary fell.
“Oh, crap.” He said and leaned down to pick it up. The diary was now open in a specific page. He guessed it was your last entry. He was sure he planned to just close it not until he noticed some interesting thing that you wrote. He didn’t notice that he got too immersed into reading that he totally invaded your privacy.
As you did the last twirl for your shoelaces, you huffed a small sigh before you stood up and went outside of your house. With another sigh, you closed the gate and was already walking towards the bus stop when suddenly, someone went in front of you.
You halted from your steps blinking twice at the sight of a cute smiling boy in front of you. You looked at him with wonder as he smiled causing a cute dimple to show up at one of his cheeks. You unconsciously ran your eyes from his fluffy hair, to his smiling face, to his hoodie, down to his pants and lastly his shoes. He’s just dressed casually but why does he looked so good?
“Who are you?” you asked and it came out a bit rudely than you expected. Jungwon’s smile fell as he looked dumbfounded for a moment. He then soon chuckled causing for you to furrow your brows in confusion.
You are kind of in a hurry and now some stranger was in front of you chuckling. Yeah, he is cute but you find it a bit weird too.
“What’s so funny?” you asked wondering why he just laughed. He raised his hand and shook it in front of you like he’s telling you it was nothing.
“I’m sorry. I just thought of something.” He answered. You nodded once and silently declared in your mind that he is weird.
“Alright. I got to go.” you muttered quickly and was ready to pass by him but he didn’t let you. You once again gave him a confused look as he put up that smile again.
“H-Hey wait up!” he said surprised that you just dismissed him like that. It was a new sight for him. Jungwon is used to people liking him right away. He’s been told that he has this vibe with him that gets people to like him right away. He was more amused than offended at how quickly you just shrugged him off.
You did stop and just stare at him waiting for what he’s gonna say next. As for you, you’re quite shock too by how he just casually popped out of nowhere. You were even weirded out why he’s outside your house like as if he’s waiting for you.
“I have your diary…” he then pulled something from his back. Your brows furrow at what you just heard. Diary? Your eyes trailed down and eyes widen when you saw your familiar notebook.
You grabbed it from him and looked at him in shock. With a displeased reaction, you hid your diary behind your back and creased both of your eyebrow at the once again amused boy in front of you. His hands were still left hanging from where he was holding your notebook.
“Why do you have this?”
Jungwon pursed his lips as a slight red tinted his fluffy cheeks. He chuckled and placed one of his hand inside his pocket. “Oh, you bumped into me yesterday and you left that.” He explained.
Slowly your hands loosened and you gulped feeling a bit embarrassed for reacting that way. You also feel bad for being rude when in fact he’s just being nice and even brought it to you himself. I bet if it was other people, they will probably throw away the notebook or something.
You bowed once that surprised Jungwon. His mouth fell a bit open as he stares at you in amuse.
“I’m sorry for how I reacted a while ago and thank you for bringing this to me.” You said, now using a polite tone.
Jungwon broke into a smile and you just found yourself blushing because of an unknown reason. He may appear weird for you but you can’t deny how good looking he is.
“It was nothing.” You bit your lower lip as you looked away feeling an awkward silence slowly growing between the two of you.
“I’m Y/n.” and because you’re a member of the introvert society, you’re not sure how to interact with other people that well. You were a bit worried that it came out weird and probably make the atmosphere more awkward.
But you somehow felt at ease as you saw him smiled once again blessing you with his dimples. Your eyes kept on eyeing them but you forced yourself not to since you don’t want him to notice.
“I’m Jungwon! Yang Jungwon...” you nodded your head, don’t know what to say next.
You gulped and pointed the direction of where the bus stop is, “Nice meeting you, Jungwon. I need to go.” you said and you didn’t wait for his response anymore.
You want to go already because you keep feeling this weird thing over at your stomach. You don’t know what is it but you didn’t like it at all. It makes you feel uneasy at some point and your heart even races. What’s wrong?
“Are you heading to the café?” the boy behind you said that made you stop from your tracks.
You snapped your head towards him and he stopped from walking so he won’t bumped into you. Both of his hands were inside the pocket of his hoodie while he eyes you both eyes slightly big, he looked adorable.
“You read my diary?” you asked him in disbelief. You were thankful for him a while ago and even felt bad that you treated him badly but now, you're pissed knowing that he just invaded your privacy.
He quickly looked away while wearing a guilty face. He puffed his cheeks and said a small, “Uh...”
Jungwon was cornered. He doesn’t want to lie to you and there’s also no point in lying. It came out from his mouth already. And besides, he did read your diary. He knew what he did was wrong so he understands why you looked so pissed off right now.
“I cannot believe you.” you muttered before turning your heels and started walking away from him again.
Jungwon hurried his steps and followed behind you. He expects more than that disappointed look from you. But he was happy that you don’t actually hit him or something.
“Well, I’m trying to find some information so I can take the diary to you.” he even tried reasoning out as he secretly broke into a smirk.
If you’re born introvert, Jungwon’s the complete opposite. He gets along with people very well. He loves teasing other people and he may seem annoying but you’ll just find yourself close to him after that.
You rolled your eyes as you opened the front page of your diary and showed it to him.
“Everything you need is in the first page, Jungwon.” you said with a stern voice.
His smile grew even bigger when he heard you say his name. It’s like you’re really acknowledging him now. He was a bit excited about it.
“I’m sorry. I just got curious. I promise I’ll keep everything that I read as a secret.” he said and even did the zipping his mouth gesture.
You looked at him with your eyes a bit squinted. You rolled your eyes realizing that there’s no point on getting mad at him. He already read it and as if somebody will be interested to whatever is written in the diary.
“Whatever. You can spill it if you want, nobody would care anyway.” you muttered under your breath not really sure if he catches that or nah. You don’t care and just walked towards the bus stop.
You looked at your side when Jungwon stood beside you. Your brows furrow hardly at him.
“Why are you here?” you asked confused.
“I’m coming with you.” he sounded like an excited kid going on a fieldtrip.
You frowned at him and shook your head hardly. “No you’re not.”
His shoulders fell as his lips grew into a pout. You can’t help but to look at those red lips. How can he have those natural looking red lips? Unfair.
“But it’s Saturday. I don’t have anywhere else to go.” he said really feeling sad. He’s just trying to make you pity him so you’ll allow him to go with you.
Jungwon don’t know but he really wants to know you even more.
“Why are you doing this?” you asked him, still with your squinting eyes looking at him with suspicious.
People aren’t always friendly with you. They always find you cold at some point. You can’t blame them since you are a little cold. It’s just you don’t know how to be friends with them. You always think you’re a complicated person and that people will eventually get sick of you. So even before getting attached to someone, you blocked them away from your life.
“I want to be your friend.” this time Jungwon has his cute smile plastered over his bright face.
You pursed your lips while still furrowing your brows at the cute boy in front of you. Eventually, you sighed and just rolled your eyes before getting on the bus.
“Whatever.” you muttered and just let him go with you. He rode the bus too and sat beside you casually. He’s pretty talkative and his dimples shows every time he moves his lips. You can’t help but to get distracted by it.
As you arrive at the café that your family owns, you can already see your Mom cleaning up the empty tables. You pouted as the familiar sadness filled your chest. You feel bad watching your Mom do her best knowing that in the end, the bank still wants to take the only thing your Dad had left you.
“Oh, Y/n is here.” your Aunt, sister of your mother, is there too to help your Mom. You slightly gave them a small smile. You saw your Mom smiled widely at you.
That’s one of the things that make you even sad. You’re sure that your Mom is already having a hard time but why does she still hide it from you? She still always keep a wide smile whenever you look at her. You wanted her to be honest with you and lean over you during tough times.
Her eyes soon darted the person behind you and that’s when you quickly blushed as you remember that Jungwon came with you. He bowed politely and smiled to both of your Mom and Aunt.
“Annyeonghaseyo.” he greeted.
They greeted him a bit surprised. You never took someone at your café before. More likely, a boy. You blushed and quickly turned to Jungwon with a flushed expression.
“You saw the café now. You can go.” You didn’t mean to be rude to him but you also don’t want your Mom to misunderstand things.
Jungwon looked confused. You were startled by a sudden light smack over your head. You didn’t notice that your Mom walked closer and decided to hit you because you’re being rude.
“I’m sorry for my daughter. She just doesn’t know how to get along with other people. Come in! Do you want anything Jungwon-shi?” she asked Jungwon as you carefully massaged the part that she hit.
Jungwon smiled widely at your Mom and he talked very politely. You can already see that his parents raised him well. With his well-mannered personality, he surely looked cute.
But your brows furrowed when you remembered that your Mom just called him by his name. You didn’t remember Jungwon introducing himself.
“W-Wait... How did you know him, Mom?” You asked clueless. You slowly followed them as she guided Jungwon at one of the tables.
“He lives in our neighborhood, Y/n.” You were a bit surprised to hear that.
The café was very much deserted. Since a lot of café were recently established around the neighborhood, the café was not really getting much of attention. One of the reasons why you don’t gain much money to pay all your debts. Jungwon’s probably aware of that since he read your diary.
You two met eyes as your Mom kept on telling him to try what they just baked. She insisted that it’s free since he’s your friend but Jungwon kept on saying he’ll paying for it.
You saw how flushed he looked. His cheeks were tinted red. You noticed how he’s politely talking to your Mom and how he sincerely looked as he talks.
You sighed, “Jungwon, Mom’s right. You don’t have to pay.” you interrupted. Your Mom’s smile grew big when she looked at you.
Jungwon’s mouth fell open for a while, “But...”
“It’s been a while since somebody else other than me and my Aunt step foot in this café. It will mean a lot to Mom if you eat it for free.” you said encouraging him once again.
He stared at you before he smiled a little then nods his head. Your Mom looked excited as she got back to the kitchen to come and get the one that she baked. You went to help clean the tables.
After that, your Mom even insisted Jungwon to take some of the cookies. He agreed after you tell him that he should.
Monday came faster and as you were about to leave your classroom after class, you noticed a pack of students outside of your room. You’re a bit weirded out since it seems like students were here for someone.
“Y/n!” your eyes looked over at the person who’s waving his hand to catch your attention.
He was casually leaning over the wall before he saw you going out of your room. Your brows furrowed at the sight of Jungwon walking closer to you. It’s a bit strange why other students were eyeing both of you.
“Yah... Y/n. You know Jungwon?” suddenly one of your classmates who never spoke to you talked beside you. Some of her friends were behind her and eyeing the boy who’s already near you.
You were dumbfounded for a while as you realize that the Jungwon that your classmates were crazy for was the same Jungwon who bugged you out last weekend.
“Your class is done, right?” he asked smiling down at you.
You blinked twice feeling flushed as you felt eyes darted at your direction. You can’t help but to feel nervous since you never experience this type of attention before.
You just nodded and he quickly smiled brightly at you. “Great! Let’s go to your café? I got a few friends to go since they said they wanted to try the cookies too.” he said and even motioned few of his friends.
You looked surprised and excited as well. Your mouth fell open when you saw who he’s talking about. It’s not just few. It’s almost like more than ten people. Some of them is your seniors in the school.
Your eyes darted over him and his smile slightly fell as he saw your displeased expression in front of him. Jungwon was confused why you reacted that way. Did he upset you? He surely didn’t mean to. He licked his lower lip out of worry.
“You don’t have to pity me just because of what you read in my diary—” you muttered lowly towards him but he interrupts it as he gently places his hand over yours that was already balled into a fist.
“No… I’m not doing this out of pity, Y/n. I want to help you because I want to be closer to you and to be friends with you.” He said seriously, brows furrowing in front of you. He looked really sincere so you were obviously taken aback.
“O-Okay.” you don’t know what to react because you really didn’t expect that kind of answer from him. You then feel thrilled to know that a lot of people will occupy the café after months of being empty.
Your Mom is even more surprised when you arrived with more than ten people together with you. That day, the café was too busy. Almost every table was taken and it surely is pleasing to your eyes.
“Here’s your order.” you muttered softly as you approach the table where Jungwon was sitting. Beside him are some of his friends.
You blushed as you felt them starring at you as well. You carefully placed their orders over their table and quickly left.
Jungwon frowned after you left and looked at his friends who’s eyes were still glued at you.
“Who is she Jungwon? I didn’t know she goes to our school?” Taeyong asked obviously curious.
He squinted his eyes and unknowingly shoot glares over his friend. He doesn’t know but it irritates him when someone took interest of you other than him. He did take his friends and hyungs here so they can try and even share with their friends too about your café. He badly want to help you. But he didn’t expect them to react like this.
“Yah, Taeyong. Can’t you tell our Jungwonie here likes Y/n? Back off already.” Jungwon eyes grew big as he felt Jay’s hand wrapped around him. He was teasing him obviously but that’s the least that Jungwon is concern about.
Taeyong soon broke into a teasing smile before nodding his head afterwards while raising an ‘ok’ sign at Jungwon. He got flushed but just ignored it.
After that day, miraculously, the café was always full every day. You watch as your Mom was very stoked welcoming customers and guiding them over to a table. You were really happy that the café was doing fine these past days. Your eyes slowly trailed over one table that was occupied by your most often customers. They were rowdy as always but you completely don’t mind.
Jungwon was laughing over at one of Jay’s stories once again as he looked over at you. He smiled and waved a little. You smiled at him too. You don’t know why and how, you don’t even know when did you two became close but you admit to yourself that you are glad. You didn’t even notice it but suddenly, you just found yourself comfortable around him.
“Welcome~” your head snapped over at the entrance when you heard your Mom welcoming another set of students. Their eyes were already over the rowdy set of friends so you already know what they came for or who they came for.
You smirked but fell afterwards when your aunt informed you that there are no more vacant table. You looked over your Mom and worriedly gestured that there are no vacant seats anymore. You didn’t notice that Jungwon was already by the counter getting some tissues as he eyes you in concern.
“What’s wrong, bun?” he asked softly. You looked over at him not being flustered by his nickname for you anymore.
You looked at him with a pouting face. “There’s no vacant table anymore.” you worriedly told him.
He furrowed his brows as he roamed his eyes over at the café. The boys noticed both of you talking and Jay approached. “What’s the matter?” he asked. Your Aunt ringed the bell from the kitchen meaning the orders were ready too.
You were a bit in panic as there were customers in line too. There’s just too much work to do. Some of the customers were even shamelessly eyeing Jungwon by the counter.
“No table, oppa.” you said. As you had mention a while ago, they are your most often customers so you became close to his friends too.
Jay motioned something to his friends and they get up right away. Your brows furrowed as they even started cleaned the table. Your eyes grew big.
“You can just leave it if you guys are done.” you quickly said but they kept cleaning.
Sunoo walked over to the girls by the entrance and guided them to the table they were occupying a while ago.
“Can we place our bags here for a while, Y/n?” Heeseung asked you and you just nodded at him still a bit dumbfounded.
Jay came out from the kitchen wearing an apron and even handed some to his friends. Your eyes furrowed as you approach the orders that needed to be distributed but Sunghoon already had his hand over at them. He smiled, “You go take orders, Y/n. We can take it from here.” he said then smiled. You bowed feeling really thankful as you walk towards the counter to get orders.
Your eyes trailed over the seven boys who’s busy helping out. You slightly pout and feeling really thankful for them. Your Mom went over by the counter, “Those boys are really nice.” your Mom stated with a motherly smiled.
You nodded your head in agreement and focused at getting orders.
“Oppa, are you often here?” Jungwon heard one girl asked Sunghoon as he placed their drinks over their table.
Sunghoon gave them a shy smile, “Yeah, we often hang out here.” he answered.
The girls were obviously admiring him. Ni-ki, Jay and Jungwon stood still by the side smirking while watching Sunghoon. They were smiling a bit as they watch him interact with girls.
“Jungwon, you should help Y/n at the counter.” his eyes went over to Heeseung who’s holding drinks over his hand.
Jungwon nodded right away and quickly head towards you. You were smiling a little as you get the girl’s order. Her eyes soon darted behind you so you unconsciously looked over your shoulder. You were greeted by his familiar manly scent. You’re a bit small so your eye level were at his shoulder.
“W-What are you doing here?” you asked blushing. He smiled showing off his dimples at you.
“Helping you.” he shortly answered and even bowed at the girl.
“Annyeonghaseyo, I’ll get your order.” he politely said smiling nicely over the girl. You saw how she blushed like crazy and even stuttered as she recited her orders.
You watched from behind and saw Jungwon’s broad shoulders. You blushed when you realized how boyfriend material he is right now. He’s currently wearing his plain white shirt that was under his uniform because he took it off a while ago.
“Bunny, change please.” he said snapping you back to reality.
You blushed harder as the customer in front both of you exchanged looks from you then back to him.
“H-Here.” you were even shaking a bit as you handed her the change.
After working so hard, Jay and Sunoo said goodbye to the last customers for today. The other boys were sitting down at one table and chatting with each other.
“Oh! My Mom is calling me already. Mother-nim, I’ll go now.” Jay suddenly stood up with his phone.
Mom looked at him, “But I want to thank you for helping us.” Mom said with her pouting face.
Jay smiled and even waved his hand like ‘no’. “It was nothing! We wanted to help.” and he bids goodbye. You want to stop him as well but he waved at you.
The other boys said good-bye too. Mom went and stop them to give them some cookies. Their faces brighten and accepted it thankfully. As they left, Jungwon was still by the counter with you.
“You two should go home together. Your Mom and I will fix the café.” your aunt told you.
You both nodded almost at the same time. He walked towards the place where you both placed your things and brought them himself. You took off your apron and handed it over your Mom. She smiled and cares your face with a warm smile.
“Good work for today.” she said very thankful.
You smiled, feeling happy that your Mom is happy. She soon looked over the boy who’s waiting patiently behind you. She chuckled as she can’t deny you two both looked adorable together.
“You two go home safe, okay? Jungwon, please look after her.” you blushed and silently made her stop. She just looked at you teasingly that you exchanged with a flushed expression.
You and Jungwon enjoyed the comforting silence between you as you walked slowly under the dim street lights. The cold breeze blew towards you and you rubbed your arms as you felt a bit cold.
He quickly took notice of it and carefully placed his coat around your shoulder. You looked over him and smiled. He was always caring. He always got these keen eyes of the things happening around him, especially when it comes to you.
He smiled in satisfaction as he saw you feeling a bit more warmer.
“Thank you for today, Jungwon.” you decided to break the silence as you looked over his direction.
He looked at you as well. And as you both meet eyes with each other, you instantly felt butterflies inside your stomach go crazy. You blinked twice feeling something inside of your chest wanting to burst out but you refrain it from doing so.
“No... actually... thank you for always staying by my side.” You said sincerely as you felt your face burn out of embarrassment but you shrugged it off.
It isn’t always that you have the urge of expressing your gratitude over to him. You saw his sincere smile but that didn’t last too long as his playful smirk soon replaced it.
“Really? In return you can give me a massage since my shoulder hurts a lot.” he even let out an exaggerated groan as he slightly did a massage over his shoulder.
You rolled your eyes as you hit him over his arm. “You just really enjoy pissing me off.” You stated. He whined little but laughs afterwards.
“Your pissed off face is priceless, y/n.”
You rolled your eyes again. “It’s been months already but I’m still wondering why you’re doing all of these, Jungwon.”
Jungwon looked at you with his serious face and a bit of smile. You gulped feeling nervous.
“You knew exactly the reason why, bunny. You just don’t want to admit it.” he smirked and looked in front of him. He licked his lower lip once as he felt nervous as well.
You bit your lip, he was right. As you two became closer, Jungwon also grew fond of you. He was wise enough to know how he feels towards you. And him, being his confident self, his actions became bolder when it comes to making you aware of how he feels.
You, on the other hand, are a little coward. You chose to act ignorant as you still feel a little scared of experiencing that kind of emotions. You think you’re still not ready for that.
“Go inside,” you’re too occupied with your own thoughts that you even didn’t realized that you just arrived in front if your home.
He’s smiling at you. With a sigh, you took off his coat and hands it over to him. You accepted your things that he carried for you.
“T-Thanks again.” you stuttered and you heard him chuckling because of that. He pinched your blushing cheeks as he finds you cute.
“You’re welcome. Go inside, it’s getting cold.” he said in a very caring tone.
You nodded and thoughts flooded your mind as you turn your heels. You were already heading towards your front door but Jungwon was still stoned over at his position.
It became part of his routine to watch you go inside your house first before he walks off whenever he’s walking you home. It just gives him the satisfaction and it calms him down knowing that you’re inside, safe.
You let out a sigh and made up your mind. Jungwon was already about to leave when he saw you insert the key over to your door but halts his steps as you face him once again.
His brows arched upwards in wonder why you looked over at him with both cheeks red as tomatoes.
“Jungwon! Tomorrow,” you started, gulping to clear your throat to prevent choking by your own saliva as you nervously continued your sentence.
Jungwon was very focused at you. He was completely anticipating what you’re about to say. Hearts pounding hardly, he tried not to be distracted over it to make sure he’ll hear you.
“Let’s go to school together.” you finally said it.
Jungwon’s mouth fell slightly open because he can’t believe what he just heard. But soon a wicked grin appeared over his flawless face.
“You do know what’s the meaning of what you just said, right bun?” he asked making sure you’re aware of it.
You managed to nod your head towards him as you tried to open the door. You hurried yourself in, not waiting for his other remarks.
You were dumbfounded the moment you arrived inside. Your right hand unconsciously rested over your chest as you tried to calm down your heart. It was beating so fast like as if you just forgot to breath for hours.
“Did I just indirectly admit to Jungwon that I like him too?” you mumbled to yourself.
You covered your blushing face with both of your hands as you let out a suppressed scream. The feeling was too much for you! You can’t take it.
You still feel a bit light-headed as you remember why going to school with Jungwon a very big deal for the both of you.
You did mention that you surprisingly became close to him and his friends. You were thankful for that, really, but even after that, you can’t still deny your hate for being the center of attention. And going to school together with Jungwon, just means you’ll be the talk of the whole school.
It was unable to count how many times Jungwon asked you to go to school together but ever since, you kept rejecting his harmless offer. And because of that, Jungwon declared that when you agree to go to school with him, that will also mean you’re letting him to date you.
To say that you’re feeling agitated the next morning was an understatement. It didn’t give justice to the feeling you’re currently experiencing because of the thought that probably, Jungwon’s outside your house... waiting.
“Y/n? You’ll be late if you don’t go now.” Startled by your Mom’s remark, you quickly grabbed your things and head out.
You were right, he is outside your house. Unconsciously biting over your lower lip as you admire how good he just looks while wearing his school uniform. One hand was inside his pocket as the other fixed the strap of his bag that is hanging over one of his shoulder. With one gulp you tried clearing your throat out.
His head snapped over your direction and he pulled off his usual charming smile showing off his dimples. You blushed, you were sure that you did. The corner of Jungwon’s lips lifted as he stared at you walking cutely. He knew you were nervous and he couldn’t even blame you. Because behind his smirk, he can feel cold sweats running down over his back. He’s so nervous as well that he can’t even sleep a wink yesterday. He was thrilled, because finally, you two are now dating.
“You look beautiful.” He tried complimenting you. Cheeks getting a little bit more redder, you glared over him then walked pass by him.
“Shut up.” You muttered shortly that made him chuckle. He knew you were flushed and yet he still pulled that off.
Jungwon hurried his steps catching up on you and smoothly slide his hand over your hand as he gently intertwin your fingers. You halted from your steps as you felt your face heated up. With a widen eyes, you looked over at him.
As you stare at him you just realized something, Jungwon’s cheeks is blushing as well. He’s blushing too! You can’t believe how cute he looks like right now. He smiled tightening his grip to your hand.
“I heard this is how you do it.” He said shortly before he winked once.
“You do know you can’t wink, right?” this time it was your time to tease him. He broke into a smirk as he stared at you after a scoff.
With a chuckle he started pulling your hand so you can both start walking. Silence ate both of you once again but just like every time, it was comforting. A small smile soon appeared over your face as you enjoy his warmth.
You may think that the way you met was cliché and that it’s all a coincidence but believing that destiny might have something to do with it makes it more romantic. It’s amazing how somebody who’s once a stranger to you is one of the persons you can’t live without right now…
“What are you doing?” like a speed of lightning, your head snapped over to the direction of your room’s door.
There you saw Jungwon, your boyfriend, entering your room like as if it’s his. He was too used to it that he barged in without knocking. You gave him a small smile and a small, “Hi.”
He walked towards you and dropped a swift kiss over your bare shoulders. He leaned over resting both of his hands at both of your sides caging you over your study table.
“What’s that?” he tilted his head over to your computer.
You smiled, “I decided to join the school’s event for Valentine’s day! I will give them my entry about how I met you and how our love began.” You were very excited about it and to share your wonderful story. The past years with Jungwon were just amazing that looking back to the day you two met still feels surreal.
Jungwon smirked while staring intensely at you. He leaned over to your face dropping a kiss over your cheeks as you giggle at him. He’s being clingy again. He pulled away for a while then leaned back again, now for a gentle kiss over your lips. One smooch and you can feel your heart reacting the same way how it does whenever Jungwon’s around.
“Oh yeah? How did we met?” you snapped back to reality as you shoot glares over at him because of what he just asked.
But soon he let out a laugh when he saw your annoyed face. He kissed your forehead.
“I’m just kidding! You know I will never forget that day since that brought me up to you, bun.” He then moved away to lay down over to your bed.
You scoffed and turned over your computer to finish your entry but you heard him whine. “Can I please have my cuddles first before you finish whatever that is?”
“Fine,” you answered and stood up from your chair to go to him.
He quickly embraced you with his tight hugs letting you rest above him. You rested your head over to his chest, just right above where his heart is. One of Jungwon’s hand was behind his head while the other one was busy drawing lazy circles over your arm. Your breathing come into a calm phase as his touch were always delicate towards you, sending comfort with all over your system.
“I love you.” You muttered and felt satisfied as you heard his heart reacted to your words.
“I love you too, bun.” And with a swift kiss over the top of your head you both slowly drifted off to dreamland enjoying the warmth of being locked in each other’s arms.
