Today is a day I’ll never forget. Took my new PA14 out for its maiden voyage and my daughter captained it all by herself! She did an incredible job handling the kayak. Not only that but she also found the slap crappie when she went into deeper water with her slip bobber and minnow setup about 2.5 under the bobber. The crappie were aggressive as hell coming up from the 8ft depths they were at to take the bait. We have enough crappie for us to both eat and threw everything else back. A truly beautiful day out on the water. I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus for some time. Life and career will do that to you. Good news is...I’m back! Despite the brutal cold and extremely high winds, I almost limited out on big Lake Michigan Brown Trout! Man the bite was on FIRE today but in general the last few weeks it’s been a very good bite. Hands down this morning was the BEST fishing I've had yet out on Lake Michigan! Conditions were perfect and we got out about 2mi offshore. Caught a total of 4 fish and was 1 fish shy of limiting out. I was 2 species shy of pulling off a #LakeMichiganSLAM too! You see that chrome in the pic!!?? Wait till you see the epic footage of me hand-lining one of my catches in after doubling up!
