Day 3 of 12 Days of 2026 Debuts: Triple Shoutout
Only 3?! I have so many I wish I could shoutout! (in order of when they appeared in my life)
 Cat Rambo: When I resumed writing in 2019, I stumbled upon a Facebook post by a writing friend who recommended Cat's Rambo Academy for Wayward Writers. I signed up for classes, joined their discord, and became a patreon supporter. Cat has been an amazing mentor. They always answer my questions and have been supportive through all the ups and downs of publishing (and life!)
 Ayesha and I met through a Facebook writers group (I don't even know if it exists anymore) where we shared early chapters of our books. She and I kept chatting. She's a bright, shining light of joy, and a dear friend! She's a constant cheerleader, and I wouldn't be where I am with my publication journey without her.
 Jenny and I met on a writing discord in 2020. We exchanged manuscripts, trying to improve our writing. Jenny's horror career took off! When I think of amazing author friends, she always comes to mind at the top of the long, long list. I appreciate the support she's given me throughout the past 5 years so much.
Day 2 of 12 Days of 2026 Debuts Double Take: đź‘€ Two surprising things you've learned on your debut journey
I have more than two surprising things but the first is something I already knew–that every debut journey is different. Chatting with my fellow debuts really drove that home. Regardless of similarities, ie age category, genre, or small press, we've all got a different journey.
The second is something that surprised me. That it's okay to do only the things I enjoy in terms of promotion and trying to get readers for Worlds Divide. I tend to think I have to do everything. As a disabled author, I really, truly cannot. The acknolwledgement that it's okay that I don't was so helpful to hear!

Day 1 of 12 days of 2026 debuts is A Bookish Beginning: Share a book that inspired you to write. I have been a story-teller since I began to talk. Writing down those stories came with the ability to scratch words and sentences onto paper. I have to credit early readers like Richard Scarry's Busy Busy Town with some of my very first writing inspiration.

Back then I was calling it Super Camp, but switched the words once I was able to secure the domain campsuper[dot]com - that it was even available was a nice coup for LyonsArts’ long-term plans. (I was also apparently reading “Six of Crows” at the time.)
