Y/N dropped down next to Jean, who was holding a blanket around her shoulders. âEverything alright?â
She pulled the blanket closer to her body, âItâs freezing.â
They held back a laugh, âIs that really all?â
She looked at them with an exasperated look, âAre you not?â
âNope.â
âI-how?â
âOh, I donât know maybe, oh!â They tossed their arms up, âMaybe itâs because I can control fire and for some reason my body temperature has decided to be above 100 degrees at all time.â
She pulled the blanket closer to her, âYou know, you never did tell me, how did you find out?âÂ
âFind what out?â
âYou could control fire and that youâre always hot.â
âWell, I was always told that I was hot so thatâs how I found that out.â
She laughed, âY/N.â
âAlright, alright,â They sighed as Jean shivered, âWould you like me to warm you up?â
âPlease?â They held back another laugh as they lifted their arm for her to curl into. Their arm fell to lay on Jeanâs shoulders. âIâm feeling warmer already.â
They smiled and kissed her temple, âI was 10. I had just gotten into a really bad fight with my mother. I couldnât control my anger and soon my clothes caught on fire and just...I donât know. I think I nearly gave my mom a heart attack.â
âIs that really it?â
âI guess. Honestly, I canât really think because Iâm wanting to keep you warm.â
She leaned in and kissed them softly, âY/N, I love you and I am warm enough.â
âReally?â
âYeah.â
âI just remembered that there is an unlit fireplace in front of us.â
âY/N Y/L/N, are you trying to flirt?â
âIs it working?â
She stayed silent for a moment until she sighed, âYes.â
They smiled and moved their hand lightly before motioning to the fireplace and it lit. They looked at her again, âWarm?â
âAlways since Iâm with you.â
âCheesy. I like it.â
She leaned in again and whispered, âI hope so.â And closed the gap between them. Smiling from the warmth she felt from their lips.
