berrisexual community: i need some help and i’m confused that i might be overthinking this!
i initially dismissed adopting the label for a long time because i thought i didn’t qualify, but could “primary attraction to women” also refer to a choice if it’s under the bi+ umbrella?
what i mean is, i haven’t really been attracted to enough people in a long while to really tell whether i’m overall more attracted to women or men, but i always center my sapphicism and mostly choose to date & center women in my life so i rarely focus on the latter. i tend to put much more emphasis on being WLW and get excited about ending up with one compared to knowing i could end up with a man i’m attracted to but not wanting that. that being said, it’s possible i could still have more frequent or prevalent attraction to men usually.
i know it’s problematic but for the sake of getting the point across easier, i wonder if berrisexual can work like febfem for some people since it’s still a subset of bisexuality’s broad spectrum, where one may or may not have stronger leaning attraction to women but only partners with them anyway. in that case it’s part of their innate sexuality but is more relevant to their conscious preference. plus, pansexuality is more about (lack of) preference than gender quantity/specification, or else it wouldn’t exist separately from bisexual.
it’s okay if i’m wrong and my reasoning doesn’t meet the berri definition’s criteria! even then, i won’t count myself out since i’m still figuring out what percentage i’m attracted to women/men together. a positive answer sure would make the process simpler, though!
