I've never gotten to hold a beefly and see one up close and personal before, but I just found this guy resting outside on the balcony, and it didn't mind coming inside for a quick photoshoot.
When I think of bee flies I always think of the yellow colored ones, but there's a lot of shapes and colors they come in. Unless I'm mistaken, this one is a tiger bee fly (Xenox tigrinus) (I'm in CT, USA, if anyone were wanting to confirm/correct me) So pretty with cute little face 🥺💖
