Does anybeing else feel this weird thing thats kind of how gender feels, or how identity feels, but it's just like a weird third thing?
[by Tori]
The thing is I know how my gender feels, this is something other than gender tho, it feels similar, and often can be described with xenogenders, but I do feel a gender so this has to be something else, it also kinda feels like just identity but no I don't think so, and I dotn think it's a headmate either, it doesn't really act on its own or anything, but I can feel it...
Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? It feels so weird.. I'm gonna be searching around for terms like this but would appreciate if anyone reaches out with their experience :>
did you coin xenoqueer or did it already exist?
it already existed as a tumblr username, which inspired me to define it. although it could have existed with another meaning in the their mind, or sometimes it could be intentionally definitionless/meaningless. there were and are many usernames that could become identities. though I'm not sure if that user was the first come with it too.
Two Xenoqueer (https://lgbta.miraheze.org/wiki/Xenoqueer) flags I made because I thought that the colors on the current one were a little wonky (just my option thought lol)
i made it to kind of match the look of the Xenby (https://lgbta.miraheze.org/wiki/Xenby) flag (the yellow yellow white orange pink one / the sunset one) because its very pretty I like it alot
top is the colors edited to be a bit more Harmonious, bottom is the colors just color picked from the genderqueer and 3 xenogender flags
I agree with most of what you say but are you sure saying that members of the LGTB+ community are conforming to "straight lifestyles" if they don't use the word queer? I use the word queer because it's much easier for me to use that word but calling people who don't use it sounds kind of on the verge of rad fem like to me? I mean, just b/c they don't want to use the word queer does not make them disconnected from the "gay lifestyle." And we shouldn't make standards for it like rad fems do either
[2] Sorry if my last ask sounded kind of heated but saying that if members of the community don't do a certain thing sounds a lot like rad fems saying that if you don't have a certain opinion about something you're not really a part of the community. It just sounds a little judgemental.
If youâre talking about the post I think you are, anon, I explicitly clarified that I did not want to imply any such thing. to quote:
âWanting to not identify as âqueerâ does not automatically mean you want to conform to straight lifestyles. The wording of my tags may imply otherwise, so I want to state that explicitly.â
As I used a double-negative, i can see why this is confusing. to say it a different way:Â
identifying as queer is one way of showing you donât identify with/conform to a âstraight lifestyleâ, so to speak. but it is not the only label used to identify as not-straight (or not-cis).
I just want âqueerâ to be respected as a perfectly acceptable label for non-straight/non-cis people again, just like all the other myriad of labels that exist and are equally valid.Â
aaaaand Iâd like that to be the end of the identity discoursing on this blog for a while, at least as a main focus. back to fandom talk.
