Főnököm szólt a múlt héten, hogy szeretnék kiugrani Washingtonba. Iszonyú bulinak ígérkezett, szerdán oda, csütörtökön meeting, csüt este vissza. Ki tud ennek ellenállni! (A fair play okán ideírom, hogy persze maradhattam volna tovább, akár a hétvégére, de nem akartam a családot azzal szivatni, hogy itt hagyom őket, ráadásul szombatra volt vonatjegy Lipcsébe, ahove aztán nem mentünk egy kellemes csoportos hányósvírus miatt). És ha már amerika, akkor bérautó, és ha bérautó, akkor megírom.

Igazából sajnálom az autós újságírókat. Persze nyilván ők javarészt érdekesebb autókról írnak, cserébe sokkal többről. És ha az ember nem akar megragadni a “kétésfélliteres 170 lóerős aggregát” formuláknál, akkor valamiről csak kéne írni. És akkor mondjuk itt egy ilyen puffancsról mit is lehet? Semmit. Négy kerék, egy kormány. Unalom a köbön. Akinek mindegy, az vegyen ilyet. Akit viszont érdekel az autó, és olvas róla, annak felesleges róla írni. Annyira semmilyen. Családot reggelente beletuszkolni, és elvinni iskolába, oviba, dolgozóba tök jó. Közben lehet borotválkozni, kötögetni, újságot olvasni. Mondjuk óvatosan, mert semmiféle aktuális távolságfigyelő cucc nincsen bennne. Amit én mondjuk 2017-ben ebben a kategóriában elvárnék. 

Én ezt amúgy nem értem. Itt vagyunk Amerikában, a Tesla hazájában, meg Google, meg Amazon, meg minden. És az egyik legnépszerűbb SUV egy Nissan Rogue (valójában X-Trail) amit mondjuk kábé 2010-ben is szégyellni kellett volna. Elvileg 170LE, de ebből 70-et simán letagadhatna. Nyilván nem segít az autómataváltó meg a csilliárd tonnás autó sem, de nem egy versenyautó. Amúgy városnézni (volt 1 órám Washingtonra) tök jó. Szépen, nyugisan gurulgatni vele kellemes. Valami V8 morgás jobban esett volna, dehát szegényembernek ez jut. Rettenetes lábbal nyomkodós kézifék (lábifék?), és a legfőbb amerikai extra, a bezárásra dudáló autó. És aztán ennyi. Semmi gadget nincsen benne. Ha igazi tahó amerikai autót szeretnék, akkor vennék valami V8-as dögöt. Ha meg modernet és újat, akkor Teslát, vagy valami németet, vagy Alfát, de ezt biztos nem. Ebből is látszik, hogy nem vagyok amerikai. Ők ezt veszik. Rengeteg van belőle.

Nem az autó hibája, de valahogy ez a SUV dolog nem jön át nekem. A Crafteren kívül eddig semmiben sem éreztem. A Tiguan meg most ez is csak kívülről látszik SUV-nak. Benne ülve nem ül az ember igazán magasan, nem látod át a forgalmat jobban, semmi. Jó, én az ülést mindig lenyomom legalulra, ezért most kipróbáltam, hogy milyen, ha felemelem. Semmilyen. Szóval, aki SUV-ot akar, az vegyen Trasnportert. Vagy X5-öt, azt nemtom, hogy az a kategória milyen.
