♦ Latest member of the Bad Sanses. He’s about 35 y/o. At the end of Seeletale, he’s about 39 y/o.
♦ Has a great friendship with Epic. NM doesn’t like it, but he doesn’t do anything to change that since the scientist keeps focused on his universe and doesn’t fight with the Star Sanses.
♦ Cross isn’t really talkative, at least with the people he doesn’t trust. With Horror or Epic, he’s more open to conversation.
♦ He’s frequently sent on missions alone, in light of his efficiency and his ability to scout before any interventions or negotiation.
♦ Cross gets along with each member of the Bad Sanses, even if he spends a lot of time alone, in the manor or on missions.
♦ The monochrome hasn’t talked to X!Chara since the X!Event, the latter sleeping kinda all the time. However, he still feels his presence by his side: a strange warmth, similar to the one that comes from his scar, spreads through his skeleton when a wisp of Determination bubbles up into his soul.
♦ He’s the second assassin of the group, even if his Royal Guard training distinguishes him from his colleagues. Like most of the Sanses, Cross uses bones, Gaster Blasters and Blue Magic. He’s used to handling his bones like daggers, but he can also summon two blades. Very agile, his reflexes have been sharpened by time and training. With Killer, he’s the member who trains the most and the two skeletons often train together.
♦ Because of his attempts to recover the codes of his universe, Cross is excluded from entering many AU, like Underswap, Outertale, Underfell…
♦ He can talk about his past if someone asks him, but Cross doesn’t bring it up during conversation, for fear of being judged and subjected to remarks.
♦ Cross systematically avoids Papyrus’ in each universe he visits, during his missions or his days off. He still has the impression that he sees his own brother in each big figure he passes. Likewise, the monochrome makes sure that he never meets Gasters.
♦ Cross and Epic often have “dude/bruh” nights: they watch anime or movies, eat junk foods and chat about anything and everything.
♦ Impulsive, it’s not unusual for Cross to be the first one to engage a fight on a mission, because his opponent provoked him. Dust has by far the least patience in their group, but the monochrome isn’t afraid to fight, being quick off the mark and ready to cross swords.
→ Why and how did he join the Bad Sanses ? What is his relationship with NM and Dream ?
=> Failed X!Event: thanks to the lack of paints, Ink turned off for a week and the vial which contained the missing part of X!Gaster Soul disappeared. Since then, nobody has found him and the universe of Cross.
=> He wandered for weeks, chased from every universe he entered under the smiling eyes of X!Chara.
=> When he ended up at Epictale, he met Epic who helped him -even if he didn’t have any memory of him-. Their friendship seemed natural: the doctor tried to slowly introduce old habits that they had and bring back some recollections. Yet, this period of tranquility only lasted a month: the Star Sanses went to Epictale, encountered Cross and Ink exposed his past actions, asking a lot of questions.
=> Cross had the impression that every gaze was turned in his direction, filled with disdain. Gradually, he couldn't tolerate the guilt that haunted him day and night. Without a word, he ran away. Dream followed him, offered bed and boarding, protection… Still tormented by the damages he caused to the Guardian, remorse and embarrassment encouraged him to refuse, but he didn’t have the time to do it. A dense dark wave separated Cross from Dream.
=> NM offered him a deal: a place to live, with other marginals, no more run away and the possibility to research his close friend and family in exchange for his strength. Lacking options, he accepted and turned away from Dream to join the Bad Sanses.
=> Since then, Cross continues his missions among the Bad Sanses, able to see Epic outside of his universe, still escaping from Dream and Ink, the first one because he doesn't know how to act when he’s around, the second one because he still feels the pain of betrayal.
=> His relationship with NM is strictly professional. Even though it’s been 4 yrs since Cross lives in Dreamtale, he dodges the Ancient Guardian, not liking the fact that he can easily see how he feels like an open book. For his part, NM leaves a lot of space to Cross: Killer and Horror quickly found their footing, but the monochrome was similar to Dust. They distrust a confort which seems too good to be true.
