Here in the UK it’s hard to find radio programmes that play Americana and other guitar-led music. Sure, there’s Another Country on BBC Scotland hosted by Ricky Ross (yep, he of Deacon Blue), but the shows only stay up on BBC Sounds for a month before they disappear and you can’t directly download them. You therefore have to look further afield.

WXNA out of Nashville, TN, is a great station (wxnafm.org), lots of different radio shows, one of which is Goin’ Down South, a weekly two-hour show that goes out on Mondays between 13.00 & 15.00 CST. All of 2020’s shows are up at the moment, but over time the older episodes drop off the website as there’s usually only 11 months’ worth up there. However, just because they disappear doesn’t mean they are gone entirely, as they are still floating around the internet ether. Below are details of the shows from Nov-Dec 2019. The first line gives you the playlist and then the mp3. Save the playlist to a document and the mp3 to your desktop if you like the music in case it disappears for good. I’ll post earlier shows when I get around to it. You can see what you need to change for the 2020 shows. As the mp3 is time-based, there’s probably half a song from the previous programme at the start.
