Before 2004, reading books was getting out of fashion due to the saturated impact of mass media and the intrusion of the internet into our lives. Before 2004, people were feeling guilty of not reading books. Post-2004, Chetan Bhagat's books are widely read. After 2004, people are happy and satisfied that they have read books.
โPre-2004, Chetan Bhagat was an unknown upper-middle-class lad; post-2004, he is a household name of the aspiring middle class with broken English. He was already rich, with an upper-middle-class socioeconomic and educational status: IIT, IIM, and a high-paying banking job in East Asia. Chetan Bhagat was equally rich before and after 2004.
โThere is also an anonymous writer of erotic literature in the middle class of India: Mastram. His books are read by hundreds of millions of Hindi-speaking Indians. His books sell more than Chetan Bhagat's. Should mere massive mass production on an assembly-line madness qualify someone as a writer in the field of literature, culture, and art? Does his popularity help increase literacy, or just misplace priorities?
โSociety was better pre-2004. Our society has gotten increasingly worse post-2004. Why have his books failed to uplift the moral, ethical, and compassionate compass of our society? Why have his books decreased the already dying aesthetic sense in the post-1991, hurried, and anxious middle class? What is the contribution of Chetan Bhagat in impacting society through his books?

MORE LORE FOR CHAKRAVYUUUU
Lore dump: This is before Varun decides to give Ashwatthama a modern haircut (hence the bun).
So initially they pretend to be officers to investigate diff anomalies around India (specifically eg getting superpowers ,hallucinations etc ) caused by a Drug engineered by Varunโs dad. It was leaked by an old associate of his who stole its remaining new version made (more dangerous).
Itโs not exactly a DRUG tho. (Some of you might know)
So the first half of the story is mostly them chasing around to tie loose ends and stop from the Drug to keep spreading, and find that associate to make him stop distributing the drug, while also escaping from actual cops who think Varun is involved in his dadโs drug ring. (he kind of is)

Maybe we are so far from each other,
We may never see each other again.
God! I wish a glimpse of yours so bad.
I canโt wait, for the seven minutes after my death.

I think of you so often you have no idea.
