Avalear reached over to his bag that had been propped up against the log and without much trouble he pulled out an old journal. The pages folded open with a crisp, satisfying creak from the journal's spine. Graphite met the blank page and soon enough Avalear would scribble down his thoughts.

“It's been little over half a year since I first set foot on Khaz Algar. It's incredible just how deep some of these settlements go. After Gundargaz there was Mereldar and then Weaver's Lair. Still don't know how I feel about the Nerubians calling me 'Morsel'. I'm hoping they just liked seeing my reaction to it. After the attack on Hallowfall and the Priory of the Sacred Flame I actually got some time to explore and enjoy the surface.

Alas, there's word going around that the remnants of Queen Ansurek’s forces are mobilizing about Hallowfall. To what end? If Xal'atath has her hands in it then I’ll be sticking my nose in her business again. The first attack on Hallowfall saw many Lamplighters losing their lives in the defense of their home and even the Archmage Khadgar was almost lost.

I hear there’s some Arathi forming up a militia group and they’re looking for volunteers to combat what's left of the Sureki and Order of Night. It sounds like they’re trying to take things into their own hands with how the Lamplighters are spread so thin. Come morning, I’ll be setting out for Hallowfall and enlist in this militia. I might not be able to offer much beyond my blade but I’ll do what I know best and take care of the ones around me.”

The journal shut and Avalear’s hues returned to the stars. There was a moment of reflection on the coming days. What was the endgame here? Why Hallowfall again? Questions that only time would reveal. Avalear cast his eyes down toward the dying embers of the fire as the cold night air crept in. Sleep would come soon but Avalear would lay awake a bit longer to wonder. To wonder what would happen should Herald meet Harbinger.
