STONE SOUR- THROUGH THE GLASS

This one...this one was rough. Really rough. As some of you know I lost my husband in 2016..the PTSD from 3 tours and injury in Iraq won.

This song was one that was played at his funeral. I know it has been 10 years now. It doesn't feel like it but it has. It still hurts the same. But Mickey and Ian deserve to own some of it too I think. After I wrote this and read it to a friend, my friend pointed out that it could absolutely be me speaking as well. Ahhh me and Mickey should hang out sometime.

NOT LOOKING

I saw you today, through thick glass,

You looked past me, through me,

My eyes refuse to leak, seeing the past,

You took everything my future should be,

I hurt myself to feel pain,

I have to hold on to something,

The stars I can't see drive me insane,

Body's cold, heart thumping,

You come again, this time for pay,

Its like you don't remember me,

You act careful with what you say,

We're different, you don't know how to be,

Inside I don't lie,

You know it's true,

If you don't, I'll just die,

Had to let this marinate a bit before deciding I was happy with with. I do miss drawing my signature spirit (that barely looks like their original anymore) enjoying themself.
