if rick and morty really goes on ad infinitum like dan harmon is threatening then i guess i wouldnt hate it if they decided to focus on a different set of rick and morty later on. cause i think theres a real possibility theyll come to a conclusion on rick c137 and morty primes arc by like the next season and honestly while im super attached, I would hate it more if they did all this development just for the dynamic to remain unchanged forever and ever, just for the lols. i think itd be a decent concept if they did like 10 season arcs on different ricks and mortys, or each season after focuses on different sets of rick and morties, with our original pair just popping in when they feel like it!

if anything im guessing what happened was that initially the cast started noticing the dating rumors and the digs into everyone's privacy and how hudson and francois were getting dragged for being an obstacle to shippers and they decided that the best course forward would be to stay silent and not feed into it. which is a good course of action for /dating rumors/ and allegations about any cast members' unconfirmed sexualities and general shipping nonsense but a fucking awful strategy when it comes to racism (or sexism/homophobia/transphobia) in fandom spaces. they (white cast members) should've spoken up weeks/months ago when it became clear that the vitriol was blatantly racially charged, but also francois did a really good thing by breaking that silence and ultimately it should've been the priority of the actual producers (and yes I mean crave and Jacob Tierney) of the show to set that standard for their fandom and they failed Badly and nothing theyve done so far has even come close to rectifying it
