oh worm?
Middle aged Superheroine who used to be teenage vigilante and is stuck with the name Skullcaller from being an edgy teen and she'd really like to change the name but she's surprisingly popular and she's a mother of two now so she needs the merchandising money so she puts on this frankly ridiculous leather, bone and spike covered outfit and says her catchphrases and she knows the local heroes are laughing at her every time they meet for drinks but jokes on them she makes more money than them and they can't keep a date while she's in several committed relationships and she once had a one night stand with miss militia so fuck you myrrdin you stupid ass wizard bitch
Silly cape pitch: Smearframe, a speedster with a relatively low top speed but shapeshifting powers that become exponentially stronger the faster they're moving
"Silly cape pitch" like this doesn't kick absolute ass

Ok umm it's time for me to actually post about my OWN worm ocs now!!
Shelby Cooper aka Banshee - a small-time villain who's active in NYC. Her primary power is a silent teleportation, the caveat is that both she and her destination must be unobserved. Otherwise, she can teleport pretty far instantaneously. If any cameras happen to be recording her teleport, they simply end up glitching out and losing the frames where she actually disappears. Her second power is mostly used in tandem with the first. On the surface, it's a disorienting shriek used to rattle foes and make an opening for her to escape- but it's actually a form of sonar! With it comes heightened hearing, and she uses this ability most often to get a picture of her surroundings as she prefers to work in complete darkness.
Mia Rosaline Harper aka Rubberhose - former probationary ward, (relatively) current Protectorate cape also basing out of NYC. She can absorb incoming kinetic energy via her changer power, shaping her body to absorb the damage and put deformed parts back into place. She can also "bank" this energy and release it, giving the appearance of super strength. In action, it looks rather cartoonish. She could have an anvil flatten her face, only for her to be able to right it by say, pulling out her nose to stretch her head back into the right shape. She definitely plays up this cartoony aspect. She also has a minor regeneration ability (major burns and fractures clearing within a few days to a week) Despite her near immunity to kinetic damage, she doesn't have that resistance to other forms of energy, such as thermal, chemical, etc. Plus.... doing this actually really kinda hurts.
An ex domestic terrorist, an ex spree killer, a deviant trigger, a conspiracy theorist, an obsessive stan, and a slimeball walk into a bar.
Rough design for a group of OC's me and my friends made independently, who end up in a slightly unhiged 'team' in the Ward era. They're called Breakdown. There was a group vote. Left to right:
Valerie "Glory Girl II" - A superfan of Glory Girl after getting saved by her, Val eventually triggers after Vic getting wretched, and resolves to be Glory Girl and pick up the mantle. She is also a conspiracy theorist who thinks Cauldron was trying to sabotauge New Wave by sending the nine as black ops agents to kill Glory Girl and Panacea... She thinks Anatares is an evil clone. Godspeed, Val. Means well, but alas. Her power is a level of self biokinesis that enhanes herself to a rough alexandria package She is my friend Mamba's OC! Min "Dobaeki" - A transgender korean woman who triggers after attracting Bakuda's attention, who then gets pressganged into the ABB, and starts a deeply unhinged romance with Bakuda... While also being a paralegal assistant to Carol Dallon, and having a mild emotional affair with her. Her power allows her to redirect hostility to others, and sense others hostility, with her power ramping up over time. She is made by my friend dia, who is writing a fic with her as the POV! Len "Exothermic" - The forbidden third dallon sibling. A hypothetical Mark/Carol kid (for real this time), who accepted being the 'normie' younger brother... but things go haywire when he triggers, and it's a deviant case. (Shard done goofed) Ends up asylumed (a nicer one) pre-canon, due to how uncontrolled his powers are. Somewhat recovers mentally... however things go shit post GM, since uh. He doesn't know his family lived... or anything that happened in Worm. They too, think he's dead. Poor guy. Has the funky hardlight body, as well as concussive and explosive blasts. By my friend Croc, who is also writing a fic with his POV! Casey "Slimeball" - You know who this is. This slimeline she get's slaughterhouse nined though! And survives! By @rebel-sqrrl. Nikos "Royale" - My guy! A former Las Vegas cape, who got nominated by the nine, and coped by adopting a non chalant attitude to murder, and a deeply unhealthy infatuation with Jack Slash. Triggered after failing the bar, and his power maximises the most unlikely and most beneficial option for him by unconciously altering his movement. With Jack dead, he's sort of flown under the radar, as he was careful enough to never let his identity slip. He's just Nikos now. Deeply depressed and trying to get sober, and also get over being a spree killer for half a decade. I had a fic, but mostly i just draw his dumbass.
Riley "Forget-Me-Not" - An obsessive fan of Panacea, who triggered after a home invasion that threatened her abusive foster family, Riley can manipulate people's memories by implanting false ones, and with enough time, can even make those memories retrocausally true with physical effects. She tried to be a hero like her idol, but unfortunetly due to the horrifying nature of her power, ended up somewhat villanous in her methods. She has memory issues herself, and really isn't doing too hot. She is my friend @thinking-about-ward-a-lot's blorbo!
Anyway a selection of fun tidbits: - This timeline Royale nominated Min to the nine. Sorry Min. This is slightly awkward, so Royale obscures his identity in Breakdown. - Despite this, they alre ultimate WLW-MLM solidarity (both have horrible taste in women/men) - Slimeball is known by Min because she sold dodgy weed to Min's college roommate. Great job slimeball. - *Len Voice, after seeing Carol and Min interact for the first time* "Min. Did you fuck my mom." - Riley and Valerie are united in being GG and Panacea stans. Oh god they don't know. Oh god someone please tell them. or don't. I don't think it would go well. - Val thinks she is the leader, and leading these ex-villains (...and len) into redemption, Godspeed Val. - Royale feels sort of obligated to care for Slimeball (S9 Guilt), but does not consider her as a 'real slaughterhouse niner'. She there. For a week. it doesn't count. - Royale feels obligated to care for Len, because honestly the dude is a sweetheart. Also had no fucking clue who Nikos is. It's a good combo. They're roommates.
Random Worm OC of the day: Fold (Villain)
A striker who affects inanimate objects. By touching an object Fold causes it to absorb other objects that resemble it, storing the extras in the same space as the initial item without affecting its weight. The more identical the items are, the more will fit. If the "host" item suffers too much damage or his power is shut off, the items explosively decompress. Things with many moving parts are harder to compress unless all the parts are in the same positions relative to the whole (a computer or car would be impossible)
With a more controlled application of his power, Fold can eject one item at a time from a stack or split a smaller stack off from the larger one. With some practice this allows him to do things like forming a chain out of paperclips or tossing a stacked brick and having it expand into a wall.
He's a mercenary/hitman and has few scruples about using his power to kill. To this end, he carries guns and keeps hundreds of bullets compressed inside them which feed into the magazine without needing to reload. Uses lightbulbs and pencils as shrapnel grenades, or compresses thousands of peas into one and slips it into his target's food.
Costume: a tactical gray digi-camo jumpsuit with dozens of pockets for his items. Full-face featureless ballistic mask. Woven into the lining of his suit are tons of thin metal strips like splint mail, each one containing about 100 identical strips compressed with his power. When he gets hit hard enough the metal deforms and the stack decompresses, mitigating the hit like reactive armor.
Backstory: Used to be a PRT officer in the early days of the organization and got fired after killing a dangerous cape that was in his custody but had escaped before. Went solo, spent a while hunting capes before triggering during a job. He's a known menace often hired by villains, but the PRT in his area seems reluctant to investigate him. Rumors circulate that the local director may have hired his services on a couple of occasions...
