I was bored out of my mind in ethics class, and this is the result.
I have never seen Jujutsu, but I thought it would be funny to make that Naoya frame with my favorite red head. Don't ask me about the hair and clothes tho, I know they are horrible hhhh.
I want to talk about the tree in the hunter compound. We know that Rumi's mom is buried under it, and we know it must be pretty old since it's so big. However, what if Rumi's dad was also buried under it, and some weird demon magic happened to the tree?
After Rumi moves out of the compound with the girls, Celine starts spending a lot of time around the tree. She starts noticing some changes too. Odd changes. There's nothing about it in the hunter journals, so she looks for something older.
She finds old mythology books, and starts reading them. The Honmoon starts bugging her, so she starts reading out loud. Finally, she comes across an old myth. A myth as old as time itself.
The World Tree.
The Honmoon swirls around her, and the tree itself seems to sigh. She figured it out. The tree that stood dormant for decades, maybe centuries, has become a world tree. Celine keeps researching, and doing her own experiments.
The tree, much like the Honmoon, seems to be alive. It has its own personality, its own feelings about things, and it is very "vocal" about its thoughts. Celine kind of starts to talk with it, explaining about her girls, how they're doing, how she found Bobby, and everything else she can think of.
She doesn't tell Rumi or the girls. She likes having something to talk to that's just hers. Besides, the tree nearly stopped talking to her the first time she mentioned telling the girls. She got the feeling that the tree wasn't telling her something, but she understood. She kept something from the tree too.
Then, one day, Rumi came home. She stood underneath that tree and begged Celine to kill her. Celine could only stand there, shaking, as her Mi-yeong's daughter begged for death. The second Rumi left, Celine fell to her knees, sobbing. The tree made no move to comfort her, seeing through her secrets now.
A few weeks later, Celine walked back up to the tree for the first time since that night. She sat at the base, silent for a moment, before speaking.
"I know it's you, Mi-yeong."
The tree stilled instantly. The winds tried, but it couldn't move even a single leaf. Celine sighed, looking up at the sky, before continuing. She knew it wasn't just Mi-yeong, knowing that Rumi's father had something to do with it as well. She talked to them both, explaining everything for the first time.
She talked about how she felt alone after they died. She didn't have space to grieve, since Rumi needed her, but she had been carrying it around this whole time. She talked about how she thought she was protecting Rumi, from the girls and the Honmoon itself. She talked for hours, pouring everything out to the tree, until she was sobbing at its roots, unable to continue.
The tree sighed, moving to surround Celine to the best of its ability. Its upper branches moved, making strange shapes that Celine didn't understand until she heard a familiar lullaby in the passing wind. She cried for the first time, sobbing for the family she never got to see grow up. She cried for hours, until she had no more tears left. As she got up to leave, she swore that she would bring Rumi there one day, to see the World Tree that her family managed to create.
Even after Celine was gone, and the girls passed away too, the tree kept growing. It survived generations of hunters, even surviving the death of hunters as a breed. It continued to grow, even as the world around it changed and condensed. Finally, it was old enough to show what had been growing in its bark for all those years. The stories of every generation of hunters was etched into the bark, stopped in time for all eternity. And straight in the middle, there was a scene of two people embracing a crying woman. Celine, and the two people she needed most in that moment.
Sorry about the angst at the end, it is currently 5:40am as I'm writing this. I just want to sleep, but the ideas are holding me hostage.

What information do we have on the "world tree"? I think marcille mentions that ambrosia was made from its roots, but that's all I remember
