82 years ago today, Warsaw ghetto uprising with one of the most (sadly) iconic image of WWII
The 60,000 Jews remaining in the Warsaw Ghetto rise up against the SS under General Jürgen Stroop, who had received orders from Hitler to exterminate them. Their hopeless struggle will last until May 16, 1943. All of them will be sent to extermination camps, except for the 7,000 who died fighting or took their own lives, like their leader, the young Mordechai Anielewicz.
