An 856 year old religious bullshit building burns down and it stays in the news for days generating One BILLION dollars in donations!!! For, lets face it, a thing that serves fuck all purpose to anyone outside of the UK/Catholic religion - despite aesthetic.

But the Amazon, a 55+ MILLION YEAR OLD rainforest which accounts for 20% OF GLOBAL OXYGEN LEVELS, and 10% of the world's biodiversity - being home to near 10 million animal species of which 3,000 are endangered! - the Amazon is literally referred to as "the planets lungs" yet even with Brazil declaring a state of emergency as fire reports spike 85% since 2018, this news has barely managed to scrape into fucking buzzfeed articles.

The Amazon is not just vital to the culture and livelihood of Brazil, if the forests were to disappear the world's climate will drastically change! Affecting us all! The fire is so large its smoke can be seen from space! We're basically sending fucking smoke signals to aliens because no one on Earth fucking cares enough to donate.

A billion dollars in under a week for Notre Dame, not so much as a news article for the Amazon.

Everything in Notre Dame is to an extent replaceable. Art would have been replicated, documents which have been studied and copied. Every inch of that cathedral would have been photographed.

THE AMAZON IS NOT FUCKING REPLACEABLE!

My breath hitched while the sound of my heart beat could be heard. Is this really how I die? In the last moment, me being stupidly brave, I shoved my friend out of the way….telling her to run. BANG. The shot echoed throughout the empty hall. I can feel the fear rising in my body, the wound in my chest continued to bleed, painting the floor bloody red. I looked up at the ceiling, looking for a sign from the heavens. I can hear his footsteps. Click. Clack. Click. Clack. The sound of his leather hard shoes could be precisely heard with the silence that filled the school. And as he passed me, I looked at him with no emotions as if I was already dead. He raised the gun once more sealing my fate. My last moment will be of him, looking mad, angry, and yet, sad at the same time. I didn’t want my last moment to be of him but what choice did I have? I gave him a small, sad smile and said nothing, closed my eyes, ready for my death.

This right here has happened to countless schools all over the nation, starting with Columbine. Yet, we have done nothing to prevent it. And, it only makes us believe that our society wants our children to experience the effects of gun violence. Do you really? No, I did not think so. Nobody wants to experience it, not even themselves. The events of gun violence have not been addressed. No action has taken place, no change has occurred. Examples of past events with gun violence are more than what I can count using my hands. Nikolas Cruz in Florida. The Las Vegas massacre. The shooting at Ariana Grande’s concert. The Sandy Hook Elementary shooting. I can keep naming every event that happened because of gun violence, but there have been so many acts of terror that have occurred that it makes me realize that this is a real life issue that needs to be fixed. Many of us look to the government for help but, yet the government has not done anything and they will continue not to. On the other hand, why ban the book Little Red Riding Hood from schools? Why ban Heelys from schools? Why ban kinder eggs from the U.S.? Banning kinder eggs just because kids are stupid enough to eat the toys inside the chocolate, banning the Red Riding Hood books just because there was a wine bottle in the basket, the wine bottle will not persuade children to drink alcohol, and banning heelys because teachers and staff do not put up signs where the floors are slippery.

This proves that the government are encouraging a certain safety by banning objects when they know that the younger students have the common knowledge to know of the consequences of the objects that cause harm. We are not letting the younger generation to think for themselves by not letting them decide what not to do and what to do. We are censoring works of art as seen in Little Red Riding Hood because of the presence of alcohol in her basket, banning Heelys because people are not taught to the point where kids know that the floors are slippery, and banning kinder eggs because kids are not educated enough to eat the toys. Furthermore, the U.S. government is not in favor to ban guns? We the people can’t always look up at the government for help because government will try their best but it won’t satisfied the citizens that want action from the government. We cannot rely on the government, we have to rely on ourselves, we can find a solution to stop gun violence.

Gun violence should be stopped because it causes many lives lost and it also causes heartbreak and fear. The solution that we can take into action is protest, make petitions for the government, and charity for those that were victimized from gun violence. We should not be afraid of guns, but the people who use the guns. Why should we be afraid of the people who use the guns instead of the guns themselves? This is due to people having control of the guns. Guns do not have control of themselves, which makes guns more dangerous when there is a host. If guns were all over the place and a person was mad at someone then they would shoot them without a second thought.If guns were banned from black markets and Governments only have them then we would not have these type of events of gun violence. Because according to Erin Dooley’s “Here's why the federal government can't study gun violence”, “Scientific research... it's our responsibility," Dickey explained. "It's silly for us to watch this nonsense take place, without doing something."

This was something I made for a writing project, I hope that everyone can understand that this is not a new issue and it’s something that we should all consider fixing.

The Japanese government said it had decided to start releasing massive amounts of treated radioactive water stored in tanks at the wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant in two years.

Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga told that the government adopted the release to sea as “most realistic” and that the disposal of the water is “unavoidable in order to achieve Fukushima’s recovery.”

Nearby countries including South Korea expressed “strong regret” and “grave concerns” over the decision of the Japanese government as Japan’s releasing nuclear wastewater into the sea would directly and indirectly threaten the health of the world's oceans and people, as well as the environment of countries near Japan. 

However, The United States extended support to Japan in its decision to release contaminated water from Fukushima into the sea, stating that Tokyo appears to have adopted an approach in accordance with globally accepted nuclear safety standards.

The future of the oceans on our planet Earth.

The Japanese government should have a more responsible attitude and solutions to the treatment of contaminated nuclear wastewater.
