Allow me to be noble as well.” Kudo stiffened, watchful as Kaito reached out, softened with surprise as Kaito gently lifted his good hand from where it rested on the gun and clasped it within his own. He looked Kudo right in the eyes, didn’t flinch or hide away from his piercing, cold gaze, leaned into it even, until blue was all he could see, Kudo’s cool forehead resting against his own, could feel Kudo’s breath against his lips and even he was susceptible to temptation, the temptation to linger in this moment as long as he was impossibly allowed. “You will get out of here alive,” Kaito promised. “Anywhere I make my appearance is my stage. And nobody dies on my stage. You will live to see your life without the Organization in it. I swear to you.” OR: Kaito breaks a promise, and he will gladly self-destruct to remedy this.
