I came across this post and itâs honestly so good to see that there is someone else who feels this. Every day I feel like Iâm either neglecting my job, my daughter, my husband, my friends/family, or myself. On repeat. All day, every day.
âSome days I wonder if working moms were just set up to fail from the start.
When my child is sick and I call out, I feel the weight of disappointing my boss and coworkersâŚbut when I donât stay home, I feel like Iâm letting down the people who actually matter most: my kids. At work, Iâm stretched thin trying to be âprofessionalâ like I donât have children. At home, Iâm expected to mom like I donât have a job. And somewhere in between, Iâm supposed to keep a marriage, friendships, a house, and maybe even a piece of myself together.
Itâs impossible. Itâs exhausting. And honestly? It feels like society wasnât built with working moms in mind at all. Weâre told to lean in, hustle harder, do it allâŚ.but the truth is, no matter which direction we lean, something else topples over.
And then comes the guilt. Always the guilt. Am I letting down my boss? My kids? My husband? Myself? Some days it feels like no matter what choice I make, Iâm failing someone.
But hereâs the thing Iâm slowly learning: the fact that we carry all of this, juggle all of this, sacrifice all of this.. it doesnât make us failures. It makes us warriors. Tired ones, messy ones, sometimes broken ones⌠but warriors just the same.
So to every working mom out there who feels like sheâs dropping balls left and rightâŚyouâre not alone. The system wasnât built for us, and yet here we are, showing up for our jobs, our families, and everyone in between. Thatâs not failure. Thatâs strength.â
