Little girl saw my lockscreen (it was a picture of Paul and Richard kissing) and asked me who they are.

"Are they friends?" Then she corrected herself "I mean, your friends?"

"No"

"Are...they your relatives?"

"Not really"

"Who are they then?" She was confused at this point, and she was looking at me like I was hiding the biggest secret of the universe.

"Two musicians"

"Ah" ** brief pause ** "I don't want you to have this picture. Put a frog instead, it's way better"

"Which one?"

"Can I choose it?"

So, in case you're wondering, I now have this picture as lockscreen:

So I went back to school to do medical coding / billing. I’m basically studying to take a cert examine to say “hey she knows medical terminology, anatomy, and how to code!”

when I got hired I did not make it a secret to the people hiring me that this is what I wanted to do. For some reason this endeared me to my former boss who got a promotion last November.

I did not think any coding positions would open up within the next months so I’ve been applying for jobs not within coding / billing

but then my former boss comes in like:

Her: hey so I’m in a meeting with hospital execs and they’re saying they keep looking for coders and can’t find any. I’m gonna put your name in cause they’re really looking for people when we switch EHR’s

me: HUH???? OKAY THANK YOU BUT ALSO

Me: but I have to take the test first and pass it to get my certification before they’ll hire me right?

former boss lady-sama: oh no you can start without the cert. you just need to have it within a certain time frame of starting usually as long as you show proof you’re in a program but make sure you get in writing there’s a pay bump when you get certified!

me: OH OKAY DOT JPG??

so that’s the good news. If when it gets posted !! And I get it!!!! That’s a REALLY substantial pay increase with a substantial work change!!! Like starting minimum probably would be 19-20??

I may not need a spell after all, she was her own worse enemy. But also having an 800 year old mercenary for an ancestor is a bonus.
