The work desk setup
My room came with a good strong desk, I immediately liked it. While I was cleaning and wiping it with vinegar, I noticed the drawer was infected with bugs, so I carried it outside. The desk only has a few little holes. It's not too bad.
But now it has no storage, and I have no bookshelves or shelving space at all. I noticed the bottom of the desk is designed in a way that I could technically just add a board in there and create shelving. So I set out to search for one.
I looked everywhere to get a board, but found nothing suitable. Then I remembered all the showcase cabinets I'm trying to get rid off, and pulled a board out of one. It was the perfect size.
We shall ignore the big crack. The crack is my friend.
Now I could put my library books (mushroom guide and tree guide), art supplies (watercolors, paper, notebooks, ruler, graphic tablet), important beurocracy folders, my diary, empty envelopes and tapes on my new shelf, and the top of the table is reserved for tools only.
Yes the table is right next to the fixed hole in the wall but I haven't fixed the crack on the floor. There's art brushes mixed with knitting needles, ink bottles, more brushes, colored pencils, scissors and box cutters, bike-fixing tools and a walnut opener, pens, and feathers. And a little basket of pretty rocks. I couldn't resist it.
I like how everything is visible and easy to grab! The only better setup would be if I built a bookshelf above the desk top so I could reach up for stuff rather than down. But I'll make do. Diy shelf thrives.

ready to start working
cut out the last strip of thin white fabric into rectangles to print on using my fabric scissors. now going to print some bright blue onto the white. new color combo so hopefully looks nice :)
