𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰. Well technically not new-new, but you’ve only been working at the Daily Planet for 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬.

You liked working there! It was great. The people were amazing, work was— eh, but that’s beside the point. Over tike you became very good friends with everyone there.

But only 𝐨𝐧𝐞 person mattered to you.

Good ol’ Kansas boy as you like to call him. You don’t truly remember what did it for you. Maybe it’s the way he was so kind to you when you first stepped into the space. Maybe when he smiles how his dimples just sink in so much. Maybe how his eyes light up when speaking to you. Whatever it was, it did it for you.

Sure you’ve had crushes before, who hasn’t? But Clark, Clark was different. He made you feel alive. It was like when you two spoke the worl went away and he only cared about you. Like nothing else mattered.

At first, you thought it was silly. Just a simple work crush. But then when you noticed yourself staring at him a lot during the day, it got serious. Your heart would 𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 out of your chest when he would hand you a cup of coffee in the mornign and his fingers would brush yours.

Now? Now you’re head over heels for him. Always stopping by his desk to talk. You started paying attention to the way you dress and how you smelt. Something you’ve 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 done before.

It didn’t go unnoticed. Lois and Jimmy always watched you and Clark talk and smile with each other. It wasn’t 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 like you were tryijg to hide it. I mean you did want 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 out of all of this.

𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰, Clark Kent also had feelings for you. Now, Clark wore his heart out on his sleeve. He got teary eyed over someone killing a fly in the office. He was a naive man. For being 6’4 and almost 250 pounds this was a weird combo. He didn’t see what you were doing. How you started wearing his favorite color after he told you what it was. Like I said, 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐚𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧.

However, even though he was naive that doesn’t mean he didn’t show his feelings for you. He looked at you longingly when you rambled on about something in the news, or just anything. He liked hearing you speak. He thought your voice was like a melody. He thought you could 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦 with your voice.

Jimmy knew Clark had a crush on you. He 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 begged Clark to just talk to you. Bit in return he would get—

“I don’t know Jimmy. I don’t think they’re into me like that,“ and then Jimmy would let out the loudest groan.

Well today Jimmy had enough of this tiptoeing you both did.

He and Lois stood near Clark’s desk as he typed up a story.

“What’s up you guys?” Clark smiled.

“You wanna ask them out?” Lois asked sharply signaling over to you.

Clark gave Lois a look of ‘Keep it down, I don’t want them to know.’ His cheeks turned pink slightly with her question. Lois folded her arms in-front of her waiting.

“Clark,” Jimmy started “Just go talk to them.”

Clark let out a sigh, “What would I even say?”

Lois rolled her eyes and groaned, “Oh I don’t know? Maybe ‘I’m in love with you please let me take you to dinner?’” She groaned sarcastically.

“Do you think that will work?” He asked, face lighting up.

“Just go man!” Jimmy pushed.

Clark got up and slowly walked over to your desk area.

Jimmy spoke up, “Clark! Don’t come off too strong.” Clark gave him a smile and thumbs up in response.

Clark stalked over to your desk. This was it, the moment he never thought would come. He stopped at the side of your desk. You look up and meet his soft blue eyes.

“Go home with me,” he said confidently with a grin. Lois and Jimmy both face palm and groan at his words.

“What?” You question- eyebrows shooting up.

“Oh- uhm i’m sorry,” he rubbed the back of his neck and his cheeks turned pink. “I- I was wondering if you maybe wanted to have dinner at my- my place.” He pushed his glasses up with his pointer finger and had this cute little smile on his face. God he’s adorable.

Before you get the chance to respond he immediately speaks again, “You don’t have to if you don’t want to. I understand if you’re busy and stuff it’s no big deal-“

“Clark!” You cut him off, “Yes I’d love to have dinner at your place tonight.” You give him a soft smile

He smiled back with a boy-ish grin, “Great we can walk there after work together.”

“I’d like that,” you told him in that sweet voice.

“Yes! Finally! Oh my god!” Jimmy clapped from across the room.
