The mother of the girl is told there is a slim chance that the girl will survive having the mushi removed, but the mom insists he should because the girl MIGHT. MIGHT. survive and is part of a valuable arranged marriage for the village.
And Ginko seeing the mom treat the girl as a commodity and more worried about her wealth than the girl's wellbeing? Puts him off.

And it says something to his ideal of natural order VS man made. Sure, women and men marry and people find partners. But it should be in their own natural way. Not forced. He would support an arranged marriage like this.
And MAYBE it ALSO says something to his own ideal of love regarding himself. Ginko's appearance and existence is something unnatural and he knows it. He would only cause trouble if he pursued love.
