@therealsweetspot As the old saying goes, "the eyes are the window to the soul." When we look someone in the face, we are better able to gauge their mood and understand their thoughts. We will probably be able to tell if they are happy or sad. If we are looking someone in the face, we are prepared to actively listen to whatever they have to say. It is the same way with seeking God's face. When we talk about seeking God's face, it means we are seeking to know Him, understand His character, and hear His voice. The Bible instructs us to seek God's face: "Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always" (Psalm 105:4, NIV). But why are we to seek God's face? The answer lies in the translation of the word "face." Different translations translate the word face as "presence." In the ESV, this verse is translated as: "Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!" The Lord wants us to seek to spend time with Him in His presence more than anything else. If you’re looking to put the Word before the world in 2022, here are a few practical steps you can take each day: ⁠ ⁠ 1️⃣ Pick a PLACE. Create a regular time and place for you to have your time with the Lord. Gather materials you use to study the Word: your Bible, your Give Me Jesus Journal, and pens or highlighters. Creating a spot or having a bag ready with everything you need to have your quiet time each day will eliminate one obstacle to reading your Bible.⁠ ⁠ 2️⃣ Have a PLAN. Consistency is not always possible in every season of life, but in all seasons, give Jesus your best moments, even if they cannot be the first. Do you have a consistent time and place for spending time with the Lord? ⁠ ⁠ 3️⃣ Know the PURPOSE. Remember the benefits of putting the Word before the world. Knowing why you study Scripture is important and will make you more likely to place it at the top of your to-do list! ⁠ ⁠ 4️⃣ Be sure to PREPARE. Decide on a book of the Bible you will study and stick with it. You’ll get the most out of your daily time in the Word if you settle down in one book of the Bible to study and comprehend as you write truth on your heart. Each day, you’ll pick up where you left off.⁠ ⁠ Putting the Word before the world feels harder some days than others, but remember: the more you taste Jesus, the more the world will lose its flavor. Helloooooooo Monday!! It’s been a day. Anyone feel me? April is coming fast and I’m left asking myself, “How the flip are we here already?” I feel like this year is already flying by compared to last year. I can’t wait for Easter celebrations this weekend with family. . Last year’s Easter still haunts me. It was too weird getting all dressed up to sit on my couch😂 Looking back I realize I had everything we needed to celebrate: Jesus, my little family of four, good food and toilet paper😂 .
