2025 HAS BEEN A KNITTING YEAR FOR ME
It started on March 22nd with a visit to Stickfest i Väst in Marstrand. We went there mostly to hang out with others and knit together
On March 27th I attended a lecture at the Maritime Museum Akvariet in Gothenburg where they have had workshops and knitting cafes in collaboration with Anna Josefsson from Vinterverkstan about gansey knitting and participants learned about traditions, patterns (such as "sailor bubbles" and braids) and techniques.
They also showed the exhibition "Oceanista - fashion and the sea"
From knitted and functional sailor sweaters, to spectacular works signed by international superstars - here we get to follow the maritime influences into the fashion world.

On April 26th I went by train to Denmark and the event "Knitting by the sea" in Fåborg on the island of Fyn. A yarn festival with many activities. We had fantastic weather and there were inspiring exhibitions, lectures and book releases as well as many exhibitors. The whole city was involved in the event. I would love to return there!
On August 29th I was at the Sewing and Craft Festival at Åbymässan outside Gothenburg. There were many inspiring exhibitors and the day gave me ideas for new projects.

August 30th we visited "Sticka på kajen" in Kungsbacka which is a popular craft event arranged at Hamntorget, often in collaboration between Knit and Stick and Kungsbacka Innerstad, where creative people gather to knit, crochet, sell crafts (yarn, jewelry, etc.) and have coffee in a shared atmosphere. It is an event to inspire creativity and community, with exhibitors, sales and the opportunity to just be and enjoy.
On September 17th I went to "Sticksalong" at Gothenburg City Theatre, a knitting community where visitors bring their own knitting to socialize, get inspiration and tips. On this day, it was Knitting Icon Ann Bonander Looft and costume designer, who talked about the clothes for "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and also about her own exhibitions thatshe had knitted creations for.

On October 4th, “Ull i kubik” took place again at Öteröö Sheep Farm. During the weekend, lectures, workshops, a fashion show were arranged, and Öströö Sheep Farm offered food from the farm.
Ull i Kubik går av stapeln lördag och söndag den 4 och 5 oktober på Öströö Fårfarm. Årets tema är Ull till vardags och fest. Under helgen ar
October 11-12 was the Stick o ch Spinnfest in Rydal for the second year. I am helping to arrange the event and had booked Anna Josefsson with “Gansey knitting” and Anna Bauer with “Hönsestrik” as speakers and workshop holders. There were yarn vendors, several workshops and the exhibition “Garnets röda tråd” which was created through an “open call”. I participated with two works in the exhibition.
There was a "Dogwalk" a dog show with knitted clothes and Rydals Museum had a Spinning Machine show. International Weaving Center showed how to spin and you could try it. The event will return in 2026

On November 6th I tried going to a mega workshop with Laerke Bagger at Råda Rum in Mölnlycke.
Kom och var med på en MEGA WORKSHOP med stick-ikonen Lærke Bagger, dansk designer och stickprofil! Under en kväll blir Råda Rum stället där
We were 400 participants at the same workshop. It was an amazing power to sit so many and knit together. Laerke was very open about her life and the books she has made. I was inspired to use leftover yarn that you have lying around.
I also had the urge on November 18 to visit the
Come and experience a playful and unique world of knitting when LÆRKE BAGGER X ARKEN showcases personal interpretations of the ‘Inner Child’
exhibition at Arken outside Copenhagen. 1600 works had been submitted to an open call that Laerke Bagger had created. It was a fantastic sight to see all the works hanging from the ceiling with the name and age of who had created them.
There were many exhibitions in the house and the trip was very inspiring. I have now started creating a cardigan from leftover yarn in the new year and it is so much fun to see it grow.
The last knitting visit in 2025 was the event StinaMarias Handarbetsdagar 9–10 December!
For those of you who like to create or are curious about starting. During two days in the fantastically beautiful Kronhuset you had the opportunity to attend workshops in knitting, macramé, sewing and recycling. Several exhibitors were on site. A knitting café was held on both days. We tried out, among other things, how to use a Punch needle.
Thank you for an inspiring 2025 and look forward to what 2026 will bring.

It's been a real weird couple weeks BUT I did finally get these guys finished and blocked and I'm fully obsessed
It has a pinky!!!!!!
After several failed attempts at the instructions i-cord method I finally gave up and just did it in the round. (I still messed that up the first time but I caught my mistake a lot earlier)
This yarn is 100% wool and SOOOOO warm. The weather has still been pretty chilly here and my hand are crazy cold working on this. But when I try the glove on, it's just an instant difference. So so so so so warm.
okay so this might be really nerdy of me (spoiler, it is) but isn't the way this 60's pattern does raglan decreases fascinating?
without a cable needle too, it's v cool
