m.i.a. again
[ @wonjaevc ]
tuesdays are always sora’s slow days. even she isn’t quite sure why, but it doesn’t matter. tuesdays are sort of a break day for her. she can relax behind the counter, maybe even talk to whichever workers are in that day. it’s nice being the owner because all of her workers feel obligated to be polite to her, but it’s not necessary. had sora stayed ashore while the rest of the joseon dynasty reigned, she might enjoy the power trip being the owner gives her. but she hadn’t, and she’s glad for it. she wouldn’t be the person she is today if that had happened.
as it is slow, she convinces her workers to relax in back. she shoos them to take an early lunch break or something — anything to get a moment alone. even with the few customers eating in, it’s peaceful. she stands to wipe some tables down, anything to keep busy. tuesdays are good, but, boy, are they boring. she’s wiping down a table near the stairs when someone walks down them. “hello! welcome to rubedo’s, if you’ll wait at the front, i’ll be—” she pauses in her usual greeting when she notices just who it is that’s appeared. instantly her demeanor changes and she places her hands on her hips, lips playfully scowling. “wonjae— trying to disappear on me again, i see. dragging your ass in here nearly three months later.” she tosses the rag over her shoulder and sighs, “no warm drink for you, heathen. or did you come here to apologize for going m.i.a again? out with it, apologize and i might allow you to have your pick of sweet.” it’s all playful. sora has little control over her poker face when she’s teasing.
